I play soccer at least once per week for 2 hours. Usually its more like 2 1 hour games and then a 2 hour game on a Sunday.
The 1 hour games are 5 a side, thats fucking good for you, its constant running around. 7 a side is longer but not as tiring, a bigger pitch and more players makes it more about team work than individuals. I used to go to the gym 3 times per week as well. I've never really been a gym fan, I've had my membership for 2 years and I've not used it as much as I should have. |

I just started working out again here recently. I am working up to a bigger workout but right now I am eating just 1500 calories a day and I ride my mountain bike 2.5 miles at 6AM then workout on the soloflex for 20 minutes and then before bed I ride another 2.5 - 5 miles on the bike again. I want to eventually move to a 15 mile ride everyday and 30 minutes of strength training but it's been so long that I need to work with that as a goal. I am about your size Sleazy and I can say my energy levels have gone through the roof since I started eating right and working out again.

Lift 5 X a week to build muscle. For cardio and overall fitness, Brazillian Jiu Jitsu 3X plus a week.
Are you considering starting Sleazy? After Vegas, I got tired of being fat, lethargic, and out of shape. I hired a nutrionist, and personal trainer. I also got my hormone levels checked, and considering we are probably in the same age group, you should too. I was surprised to see my levels of Testosterone were half normal, and my Estrogen way above the norm. My doctor put me on Testosterone therapy as well as a host of other hormone therapy. In 10 weeks I've lost about 15lbs of fat and gained about 25lbs of muscle. Something to think about, and look into. Good luck. From personal experience, the first step is the hardest. |

Increase your activity level, decrease your added sugar food products, stay away from empty carbohydrates unless you're about to run a marathon, even then you're better to have good carbs in your body.
Activity level + calorie intake will dictate what your final weight will be. Adding an hour of walking per day after a month, you will lose 5-25 Lbs depending on your starting weight. Reducing calorie intake by 25%, you will likely lose another 5-25 Lbs depending on your starting weight. All energy burned vs. energy taken in (food). Find a balance, mind you, if you want to lose fat, the energy burned has to be higher than energy taken in. Edit: I suggest checking out a few different gyms, Goodlife Fitness if they have one in your area seem to be the best out there right now in Canada, and then on top of that I'd suggest getting a personal trainer for 10-20 sessions who will setup a routine and eating habits for you; you tell them your goal(s) and they'll tell you / teach you how to get there properly and safely. You don't have to put me down as who referred you.. I'll only get a crappy towel.. heh. Matt

Something as easy as adding one less teaspoon of sugar to your coffee or eating half a sandwich where you would have normally eaten a whole one will help. It's pretty easy when you think on those terms. |

Nick, I was pretty big for me at 252lbs. I know you are a bit bigger, but I agree 100 percent. I got put on the 6 meal program and I have a big kit of vitamins, minerals and everything else I have to take at different intervals during the day. I was at 26% body fat when I started mid January. I'm currently at 14 to 16% and dropping. Working out while builds the muscle is really about 20 percent of the total work. Diet is everything, and to lose weight, you have to keep the machine burning. I tried going down to the calories you are at now, I got told to increase it. The testosterone therapy works wonders. Aches and pains are gone, and my energy levels are way up there. When I first started, I remarked to a friend that it was like being 16 again. The sooner you can lower the estrogen in your system, the faster you can get that roll off our gut. ![]() Forgot to add, I dont' worry about the scale as much anymore. I started at 252, I'm now at 270lbs. While looking in good shape, a friend I haven't seen Vegas said I am more compact now. |

a) building more muscle fiber in your body which in turn burns more calories than fat b) releasing additional growth hormones into your system from fibre damage to your leg muscles. c) looking round and good. Who wants to run around with a decent upper body and tiny tooth pick chicken legs. Here are the best compound lifting excercises (IMO): 1. Deadlift (legs, back) 2. Squat (legs) 3. Wide Grip Pullup (Arms, Back) 4. Dips (Tri, Chest) 5. Barbell Benchpress (Tri, Chest) 6. Barbell Curl (Bi, Shoulders) 7. Bentover Barbell Row (Upper Back) Yet 9 outta 10 guys in the gym only work biceps & chest, go figure. |

I weighed myself a couple weeks ago and I was up near 400 pounds. I told myself, that's it. I can't take being a fat fuck anymore. Going from concrete construction to sitting in front of a PC all day fucked my metabolism like crazy. Sitting here eating cheetos just doesn't cut it when the only exercise I was going to do all day was a couple runs to the bathroom and a drive to starbucks. I am pissed at myself for getting as big as I am and I think that's what I really needed was to just get mad about it. I am determined. |

How much water do you guys drink everyday? I know it's an essential, just wondering what others do when it comes to that. I usually get in atleast 8-10 16oz. glasses per day. I know it helps flush toxins from worked muscles plus it keeps you full.

If you drink coffee, switch over to green tea (decaf or not). Go for THREE 20 minute walks every day. Try to only go to the grocery store and buy UNPROCESSED foods; fruit, veggies, raw chicken/fish/meat (no processed meat that's been breaded). Eat about 1500-2000 calories per day; also, make sure your diet is LOW FAT and HIGH FIBRE, it will help tremendously. The best way for you to change your lifestyle / turn your life around would be make yourself an expert, read and learn as much as you can about food and the body. If you keep to that in 1 month's time you should be able to lose anywhere from 25-50 Lbs; I'm not a professional or anything, though I know what relatively sticking to that healthy eating and excercise / activity level does. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to try to help you out; ICQ 129060301 or email [email protected]; though ICQ is better as I might delete your email as spam by accident. Matt

Remember that fruit, veggies, etc. all have water in them too, so it's not like you're getting none OH - DON'T DRINK POP/SODA. At least if you must, drink DIET; caffeine in it will dehydrate you and the amount of sugar in those kinds of drinks is bad. Matt

I'm a yo-yo fitness buff. I'm on or off. Like a light switch. Working out isn't something that I've ever been able to half-ass. A work out partner is a vital thing for me. Looking for a hottie 21 year old former cheerleader personal trainer girlfriend in the Tampa Bay area.

Yes. 3 times a week. I start with a walk to the gym, then stretching, followed by abb work: (which is sit-ups on different machines) then I proceed to weights. After all that I do Cardio stuff and I finish with a little kick boxing.
