Then I agree!

I'm having a great day. Had lunch with mother in law to be and my betrothed. Agreed venue, date, chose a suit and we're now sat here looking at honeymoon destinations.

And the play I'm directing for the Arundel Festival went superbly today too.

Just because I point out that you didn't understand what I wrote, doesn't mean I'm having a bad day man.

Yep, even vitamin C is not so good. The only thing I maybe shouldn't do, but do anyway, is taking Jack 3D during the diet. I start with 1-2 scoops on monday, when I have still carbs in blood up to 3 scoops for a friday work-out. It gives me crazy energy and I don't even feel like on a diet. I can do the same weights as normally even on the last diet day, which is crazy(and not too healthy, I guess).

I do keto multiple times a year to get lean, never had any issue with my pre-workout taking me out of ketosis. Im also one of those people who can still take in around 100 grams of carbs and still stay in ketosis. Muscle mass FTW

Effective dieting can be summed up thusly:

Eat less. Move more.

I have no idea whats the name of the drink I buy, but its small packets for 2 liters of water each. But during the diet, I can easily use the 1 small packet for the whole week and mix 10-15 liters from it and its still comfortably sweet. And the citric acid amount is so small when drinking it on such small amounts, it doesn't matter.

Thats crazy, I never count the carbs too much, but I think I always stay below 20 per day. But yes, when I get into ketosis(mostly late tuesday or wednesday) then its easier to stay in. The hardest part is to get in, thats when I try not to eat any carbs at all.

I also do Nano Vapor as pre-workout sometimes, but during the diet, I'm just too scared to use it, as each scoop is 10g of carbs, thats why I go with Jack. When I take 3 scoops of Jack 3D, my GF always tells me I'm like on drugs, I have so much energy the whole day, it almost scares me. lol

I'll tell you what.... since I have been getting a lot more Vitamin C, it has helped my allergies big time. I used to have to take literally Clariton-D every day. I do not think I've taken a whole package of that, or Zrtec-D, in 2012 to date. The same can be said for last year.

I doubt my allergies are getting better as I age. But I do know I have been making an effort to take more vitamin c as it supposedly can help. I know for me, it has big time. When I have had allergies pop up, a few squirts of spray typically handle it. Before it was drugs, spray, steroids, etc. trying to keep it under control.

How are you working in all of your fruits and veggies on your 20 carbs + meat?

You are never hungry during the diet days. If you are, it means you don't eat enough fat. Fat brings a lot of energy. This is not a diet to eat less, I eat maybe the same amount of calories, just no carbs. Not sure if its 100% atkins, its a little adjusted not to lose muscle.

I'm always reading that during the diet, the brain doesn't work properly until it gets used to no sugar, which can take 1-3 weeks, but I had never a problem with that. Actually I don't see any difference when it comes to thinking or using my brain for work at all.

Nope, is it worth to try? I always mix virgin oil to my protein drinks.

I think the problem is that people just look at a diet as a short term fix, and do not start changing their food and eating patterns. If you read a lot of health books, and what not, you'll find they all paraphrase something about the "lifestyle change" versus a diet.

That is ultimately the only way you can maintain.

Definitely worth it. It adds great flavor and tastes really good to cook your eggs in believe it or not.

My guess is that would apply more so to those who having been on a sugar high 12-18 hours of the day for the past decade versus someone doing a level of healthy eating, which is sounds like you do.

Biggest mistake is to over think your diet, you'll slip up, lose motivation, it's back to square one. unless you're a bodybuilder keep it simple.

No grains no added sugar, move/lift/pull more, the weight will drop off you.

Maybe, but I don't eat that healthy, I simply don't eat too much at a time. I eat pizza and hamburgers like everyone else, but I never eat the whole pizza, I eat a few slices and then if I still feel like eating it, another few slices 2-3 hours later. Also when I eat a hamburger, I leave the french fries alone, etc. I never eat too much to be full, instead I eat 5-7 times a day.

Isnt it amazing how complicated people turn weight loss into? Like as if there was some holy grail or magic thing you need to do. And people think we eat like robots on top of it.

I went low carb 12 years ago and it was of my best decisions ever. I lost 40 pounds and have kept most of it off. Also, i don't have the wild energy ups and downs that result from insulin levels spiking and crashing.

Perhaps the best thing about it (aside from not being a fatso): the standard western diet is a perfect recipe for type-2 diabetes due to it wearing out your pancreas. I'll skipping that one, thanks.

Well, weight loss is only ONE piece of the health balance pie.

People can lose weight working out, doing manual labor, and eating complete garbage.

You that nutritional pyramid (or whatever it's called now) that we've always heard about in the US? Guess who decides what goes into that. You guessed it, the Big Food industry.

As always, follow the money.

I have no idea what you are talking about but the best diet is: only eat when you are hungry.

Yup!

I have my days where i eat pizza, and burgers, and pastries. Once you reach a certain point with your physique your body can actually take advantage of the calories since your baseline caloric intake goes up as muscle mass increases

Actually thats the easiest way to gain pure fat. The body is stressed and when you eat then, the body tries to save as much fat(from the food) as possible, as it doesn't know when you are going to eat again. Body saves fat for worse times, when you stress it. When you eat all the time, it doesn't need to do back-ups.

He was indeed.

Looks like he's been gone a year or so. I would guess he is living it up in riches. No need for GFY.

Most of the people I've seen with long term results are indeed lifestyle changes.

Keep to 1200 cals a day, keep to "good" carbs, little fat, lots of protein, do cardio every day, weight training 4 times a week and you're set. Then when you've reached the desired weight you start adding up until you are at your appropriate intake of cals and it levels out. But you must keep moving or else D:

1200 cals for a female maybe...really is dependent on the person's stats and gender.

That's way to low, I would suggest you get tested to see how many calories a day
you actually burn. I was told to eat 1700-1900 calories a day.

BF I have the same problem when it comes to drinking fluids. i have issues drinking water all day, i'm getting better but can NOT drink it in the evenings. I just make some home made iced tea with a bit of sweetener and I also make my own lemonade. Amazing how easy it is to make those. Gets me by anyway, and keeps me out of the diet pops..

True that, bad wording - 1000 less than what you spend per day to lose 2 pounds per week is what I meant, and never under 1200 or starvation mode ensues - or something

I've lost 60 pounds twice with atkins, and I'm about ready to do it again... so the answer is .... NO, sure works great to lose weight, impossible to stick to for the rest of your life.

you don't need to though.. but it sounds like you are trying to find a cure for your over eating.. this diet doesn't fix that. Nothing is going to allow you to eat crap all the time. Believe me i've tried ;)

running 10k a day didn't even help to cover that.

If you're having to go on the atkins diet to lose 60lbs you are clearly eating the wrong food. Its not rocket science. Eat protein at each meal, avoid fried foods, eat veggies and fruits. Its not hard. Oh and always avoid processed food.

I don't overeat, I sit at the computer too much and am just naturally fat via genetics and body type. I've clocked my caloric intake at 2000 calories on an average day, hardly over eating. Sure some say it's an under active thyroid, low T, age... whatever, I just know that if I eat a normal 2000 calorie diet I gain 10 pounds a year.

So I figured instead of dieting I would just workout this year to lose the 40 to 60... so I started working with my weights in April and I've gained 9 pounds so far lol. Sure it's muscle I hope, but hardly the weight loss catalyst it used to be when I was younger.

The thought of going back on a low carb diet and eating baked chicken and brocolli and all my other high protein low carb meals makes me wretch anymore. Fuckin sucks, and fuck you all who don't have to diet.

A diet shouldnt be something temporary which is why "diets" fail. A the definition of a diet is what you eat on a daily basis. if you do it temporary the changes will only be that...temporary.

You guys and your comprehension problems...
Then he was not following the Atkins diet. High Glycemic Carbs make you fat.

Try the Slow Carb Diet from Tim Ferris. You will have a cheat day that will help you get through the pain of not eating delicious pizza, sweets, breads, pastas.
