when do you work out? early morning or late afternoon, etc...

and how do you find the energy to stay consistent?

this questions applies only to those that workout at least 3 days a week and have been doing so for a long time, lol, i dont wanna hear from a cupcake eating keyboard hugger

I workout in the afternoons... have a lite snack a bit before you work out... I used to take creatine a few years ago when I was working out a lot.

I do it evening and nights...

results would be better in the morning after a light breakfast.

Why? because your metabolism is working more efficiently, you have more energy and you will burn more fat.

But still, you will see results working out evenings and at night.
Just don't eat too much after 8pm.

After a workout, 2 cups of chocolate milk (500ml) is as good as a protein shake.
;)

I go for a 20 minute run at like 3 in the morning it's very peaceful. Going to rejoin a gym in a few weeks when I move for the weight training.

I've lifted consistently now for a bit over 3 years... I've always worked out in the afternoon - but that's just me, some people prefer to workout in the morning which is fine.

acheiving a great looking muscular body requires the same approach that anything else does in life where there is a goal... a good example of this is becoming successful online... the goal is to make good steady $$, and when you first start out it is bumpy (assuming you don't have someone hookin ya up) and difficult because you're operating solely on faith, faith that your work will pay off...

well with fitness whether you wish to lose fat, or build muscle is the same exact situation. it takes several hard working months to see the results of your labor. after a year of working out 4/5 days a week, all of that motivation that is hard to come by early on, is easily revived once you see your body making a significant and noticable transformation, and you only want more of it because it improves your life in more ways than one.

it's all about getting over that initial hump and sticking with it early on. all about consistency!

- one or two cups of coffee

- 50 sit ups

- 2 * 50 push ups

- 1 * 65 push ups

- 75 sit ups

then couple of hours later I do 3 * 100 sit ups

then about one hour after dinner

Mainly its the most convienient time for me.

I'm not a morning person, and could never workout in the morning.

My energy levels are usually pretty good in the afternoon. Sometimes I end up working out a bit after dinner... but I try and not make it too late ever.

NO heavy weights though , I only use 2 * 6 kilos

oh yeah , and of course working out DOES NOT consume energy , at first it does yeah , but after a while you will notice you GAIN ENERGY by working out

you get a better focus and better work rythm and thus will make more $$$$

as far as having enough energy to workout...

you need to eat foods high in complex(good) carbs before working out, these complex carbohydrates give the body energy. so it's important to eat well before you workout.

nice, thats an old school workout. i've thought about simplifying it all and just doing something just like that. its more convenient for me instead of getting to the gym and all

i work out around 8 or 9 at night. The gym is open till 11 so that gives me enough time to keep myself looking good. I also drink that all whey suppliment and use some free weights through out the day.

Seriously..I knew a couple guys who were in perfect health didn't drink, smoke ,ran a few miles everyday and ate right die of a heart attack at a young age .So if I eat what I want and smoke my cigs and drink my beer and not die until I'm 60..I will be a happy man..my point is why waste your valuable time if you can die at any age from natural causes...

I like to work out in the late afternoon or evening the best. I do it in the morning or during the day occasionally, if I really wanna go ahead and get it over with. My ex trains me sometimes, so if I'm doing free weights/resistance stuff, I kinda have to work around his schedule.

I went to the gym tonight. Did 15 mins on the machines and decided I'd had enough and quit. Got on the treadmill to do cardio instead, and after 10 minutes said "fuck it" and came home, lol.

but with those actual types of cases few and far between, it is still no excuse to not care about your health. you should do everything you can to live a healthy life so you can be around as long as you can... perhaps some day you'll have a wife you love, children, grand children and you'll want to be around as long as possible.

I am at the gym 5-7 days per week. It all depends what you want to accomplish. If you want to burn fat, workout as soon as you wake up before you eat. This will force your body to use fat storages rather than using the energy you consumed before the workout. If you want to build muscle, it doesn't matter when you workout. Eat some carbs about 60-120mins before you go, then have protein (ie. chicken/turkey) within 30mins after your workout. And cut the carbs after you workout.

edit; also, limit cardio on lifting days. just a very brief warm-up/cool-down.

i used that argument myself a dozen times before, but after i watched my grandfather die of lung cancer years ago i told myself i am quitting smoking because that is not the way i wanna go out.

also, just like everyone else i am critical of my body so i really want to make a difference and get my body in shape.

plus i will look better in my thong than i did last year

MrIzzz.. what is your goal anyways?? build muscle mass?

if so man, pushups and situps won't get you very far at all

if you're just looking to lose some fat or whatever it's fine if you do enough per day... it's mainly about diet in that situation.

but muscle mass, yeah you have to force your muscles to grow with significant resistance, bodyweight alone like pushups/situps isn't very much... you might notice some results initially - but you will quickly plateau once your body has adapted to the amount of stress pushups/situps is able to provide.

my main goal is strength training but also weightloss.

basically i have a few months till the summer and i want to look good this year when i'm walking around the beach.

but i also play a ton of sports in the summer too, so i am aiming at strength and stamina too.

i really dont care much for size, i'm 6-2 214 lbs, i'd rather just have a more "fit" look

thats where you are wrong

I started doing 5 * 20 but now I am doing a lot more

you always have to do MORE to force your muscles to grow, if you do the exact same amount every day then yeah your muscles wont grow obviously that should be clear

but when you do more your muscles need more power and thus will grow wich seems logical to me

but of course I do combine that workout with free weights so my results are not just push ups and sit ups

lately the push ups and sit ups are my warming up and not my acutal work out

but if you start you should just do push ups and sit ups and later when you are used to doing 500 push ups and 650 sit ups a day you can add weights to your work out

believe me it works , and its all in one Cardio Muscle building and fat burning

well your focus needs to be on diet, and when you train you're going to want to hit up a good amount of cardio... do anything that gets your heart pumping ;) if you just want to workout at home, do this...

buy some dumbbells.. preferably the type you can screw weights on... get ones that can go up to around 35 to 50 lbs... there's a ton of exercises you can do with dumbbells... and get a ez-curlbar with some plates.. you can do some exercises for biceps (obviously), triceps, and even chest. go to my site www.bodygain.com and signup (free), 60+ vids i recorded last year of diff weight training exercises...

also put emphasis on running sprints... difficult INTENSE sprints...

there are many ways one can workout , there is no one way to buld muscle or to do cardio

push ups and sit ups combined with free weights work well for me

I haven't been doing it for a long time, only 1 and a half months 4 days a week but I don't find it too hard to keep motivated (I go with a friend and we are on basically the same routine so it helps). I usually workout midday (after I wakeup, check to see everything is ok) than I head off to the gym. I usually only spend an hour and a half a day in there, but I get a full routine in, and don't fuckaround or try to bludge, so it makes it less of a painful experience knowing I won't be there all day.

you always have to do MORE to force your muscles to grow, if you do the exact same amount every day then yeah your muscles wont grow obviously that should be clear

but when you do more your muscles need more power and thus will grow wich seems logical to me

but of course I do combine that workout with free weights so my results are not just push ups and sit ups

lately the push ups and sit ups are my warming up and not my acutal work out

but if you start you should just do push ups and sit ups and later when you are used to doing 500 push ups and 650 sit ups a day you can add weights to your work out

believe me it works , and its all in one Cardio Muscle building and fat burning
nope i'm not wrong. you've noticed steady results on account of your freeweight training, not because of your pushups/situps... you build muscular endurance by adding more reps with no change in weight... your muscles won't grow though... you might notice them more from losing fat, but they won't grow.

take a look at marathon runners... their legs aren't huge, they're very cut from all of the hard work, but their legs aren't physically big.

don't get me wrong though.. pushups / situps are great.. i'm just saying, they won't help build all that much muscle beyond a certain point.

have you tried ? I am almost 100% sure you didn't

first try for yourself then be the judge , I am only speaking out experience and I see an increse in mass by doing push ups

izz dont eat more than 2000 calories a day.

youll lose weight.

fuck fad diets and the like.

i started back on 2000 calories a day and have lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks.

i walk 45 min a day sometimes twice a day. weights soon.

i eat 4 or 5 times a day, what i want, i just count calories per portions.

by eating a few times a day the metabolism burns more calories.
by not eating frequently the metabolism slows down because the body thinks its being starved
