Calling all Cooks: Corn on the Cob tonight!

I just got home from the farmer's market. Now what do you suggest? I'm sure everyone has their own secret way of doing it. This is nice farm fresh peaches and cream corn on the cob.

That's what I usually do, but I thought the population of GFY might have some tasty tricks to spice it up!

If it's still in the husk, soak it in water for a bit and throw it on the grill.

Sounds good. I just tossed mine on my small propane grill, and poured soy sauce over it.

Every time I turned it 1/4, I would cover it in more soysauce. Little bit of butter once It's off the grill, and it's tasty.

Mostly been covered.

Boil until warm (though steaming is better option) remove husks and stuff, then place on rack and steam until hot.

Leave in husk, throw on grill and turn on occassion. Soaking may be needed if husks are a little dry. Remove when they look crispy.

or we can go onto butter options
chili powder is good, so are many others.

roast the corn in the husks in a hot oven, it'll seal in the juices and keep it sweet
once it's done, carefully pull off the husks (there will sometimes be steam)
then drizzle some melted sweet butter over it and sprinkle a little salt and lemon pepper on it and let it sit for 2-3 minutes, then serve (you can keep the husk attached at the bottom and use it as kind of a garnish)...also keep the stalks on the corn and use them as handles, makes it more fun to eat

Not if they are firm. Or place a wire rack over your slotted grill.
Or cut in half, leave skin on, remove pit, place a dot of butter in pit hole with a small mound of brown sugar and a sprinkle of cinnemin (never can spell that) and grill until melted skin side down.

cream corn on the cob? is that even possible?

Okay, pull the husk back, remove the silk.

Coat in butter and pepper, pull husk back up

Wrap in aluminum foil

put on BBQ for about 20 minutes, turning over once half way

(they suggest you soak it in water first for a couple hours, but I have never done that as I am not that patient, and can't see tha advantage to waiting)

Brush peaches with oil and place on the grill, cut-side down. Grill until golden brown, about 1 1/2 minutes. Turn the peaches over and grill another 45 seconds. Remove the peaches to a plate and place a tablespoon of creme fraiche in the indentation of each peach.

This is so good, trust me I live in the peach state.

take some alumin foil, some paper towels, and some salt, pepper and butter

cut the alumin foil into squares that will wrap the corn, take the paper towels and get them damp, put a damp paper towel down in the square of alumin foil. butter, then salt, pepper the corn. drop it into the square and rap it up tight. now throw that on the grill.

youll have the juicyest corn you have ever had.

My husband is a fucking weirdo who doesn't like corn on the cob. However, because I like it and he's not going to be a party pooper on my corn, I boil it and add milk and butter to the boiling, so that the corn soaks it up. Add salt and more butter and enjoy!

nope.
the dampness of the towel prevents it from burning and also holds all the mosture of the corn inside it

just try it, you wont do it any other way promise.

I also does not boil out all the vitamins like boiling water causes.

I prefer my corn off the cobb.

Cut corn off cob.

Put all them little corns in a bowl.

add water to the top of the corn.

add butter salt and pepper.

Nuke for about 1.5 to 2 minutes.

Stir, nuke again until all butter is melted.

Eat!

and no corns get stuck in your teeth.

I just tried this one without much success. The wet paper inside the foil started smoldering and turned almost all the corn black. The corn that wasn't burnt completely was dried out and chewy.

Every time I turned it 1/4, I would cover it in more soysauce. Little bit of butter once It's off the grill, and it's tasty.
this sounds disgusting..sorry

The best way (and i hate to say it) is in the microwave.

Husk on 3-4 minutes on high. Unlike BBQ or Boiling, the corn retains all its natural juices and flavours. With Peaches and Cream Corn its by far the best way. Why waste all that delicious flavor and juices.

Its the one food that is better out of microwave then pot.

I still have 3 left. I'll have to give that a try tomorrow night. Maybe I shouldn't be allowed to play with fire right now.
