I was up to 285 max last year. Mostly from dumbell presses and butterflies, but since I started webmastering I'm getting soft.

i do about my weight doing 6-8 reps but i never do max because it doesnt really have any benefits besides saying "hey i can bench this much". when i signed up for my new gym and got tested he calculated my bench and said my max is about 210, i'm not sure how accurate that is though.

I benched 240, but my best i ever benched was 250...i think i weigned 138lbs when I benched the 250...i was second place for body weight to benching weight...then I got a girlfriend and stopped working out.

Been stuck at just under 400 for a long time (at least 3 mos.) I can't seem to break the barrier no matter how hard I try. Maybe I have hit my peak? I am not going to try unnatural things to break my plateau though, I just do this to keep in shape. I have been lifting for almost 10 years. Im telling you right now, hit the weights guys, it will change your life! You will never feel better, lifting helps you in almost every other aspect of your life. It clears your head and makes you feel great!

To break through a plateau change your routine

Try dumb bell presses through out the olympic bar, do decline presses and incline presses before you do them flat, and work your chest before tri's

I was the first girl to hold a weight lifting record at my high school ~ 250 on squats. Not bad considering I was a cheerleader pushing more weight than a lot of the football players.

Best Bench=501lbs at APF Seniors World Championship 2001 in Maine

If you want your bench to go up consider doing a cycle of heavy squats. It is hard to believe but one of the best ways to get off a mark you get stuck at...squat is best mass builder out there.

back in HS I could max bench around 360lbs. I did sets of 280 usually tho. Now I'd be surprised If I could do sets of 140. Its been nearly 5 years since football practice. =D

Im scrawny as fuck, I cant bench anywhere near any of you. But I started working out regulary last week, yay for me. One day I will bench some heavy shit. One day.

It sure does feel good to get in shape. Since I quit smoking last December (smoked for 10yrs, Im 24 now) I put on a few pounds (about 14 - and Im now at 150lbs lol - Im scrawny!) but I'd like to turn that into muscle - . I have like NO body fat so toning upi is no prob, its just adding mass. I guess I gotta eat more huh?

i used to be in your shoes. you gotta eat like 500 extra calories a day and you will gain a pound a week i think. you can buy weight gainer shakes. its like a protein shake with about 600 calories instead of 80. you want to eat like every 3 or 4 hours and make sure you eat breakfast and eat right before you go to bed. if you're trying to put on muscle and you weigh about 150 make sure you get 125-150 grams of protein a day. any more questions hit me up.

also to gain mass make sure you do higher weight and lower reps, like 6-8 reps per set.

I don't get to the gym anymore - too busy travelling around - can only do about 150lbs - that's more than I weigh though... I can do about 12 handstand pressups (try it.....)

242lbs x 8 repeats. I never did a single max try, I don't find a reason but i have seen many others going up to 400lbs while at 8 repeats they do about 275lbs or less. It's my worst exercise by far......

All this talk of excercise is making me tired.

I'm lucky if I can build up the energy to drag my lazy ass in to work everyday. I'm about a deuce and a half, so believe me it takes some energy to get me going. I sometimes leave a redbull and some vodka by the bed to help get me up.

When I come home I have a pre-sleep nap, then it's off to bed only to try to do it all over again.

I'll start excercising one of these days. Maybe tomorrow.
