I won't quibble over usage of the word "small". I suppose one of my points could be that our slave issue compared to your slave issue is insignificant at best. The U.S. suffers it's legacy of slavery to this day with racial issues and hatred. Canada's slavery issue was resolved nearly 100 years before yours was, and today we pretty much have no racial issues where blacks are concerned. Canadians are very much mostly non-prejudiced peoples.

We do, however, share a common heritage with the U.S. when it comes to Native Americans.

In relation to the entire U.S. population then yes, the south was relatively small in comparison. So what? Look up how many thousand people died in your war that was an attempt to resolve the issue. It didn't reslove it of course though. It officially served to abolish slavery, but it did nothing to fix the problem of what to do with the 3 million+ slaves that you had dragged over from Africa. A lot of white folks down there said "HELL's FIRE! War or no war, no nigga's gonna live on MY street! Nobody's gonna tell ME thet a nigga is equal tuh ME!"

And that pea-brained mentality lives on in parts of the U.S. to this day.

The civil war wasnt over slavery despite what alot of people would like to think.

In the mid 1800s cotton was the export that accounted for over half the GDP at the time. The South saw the North getting more influence in Washington (because they had more people... more voters) and they knew in a matter of time that the North would dictate the laws of the South. THATS why they wanted to leave the Union.

Leave the Union? They would have taken over half the countries wealth with them.

The Civil War was not over slavery. Thats bullshit. The North used it as an excuse... and not even a very good one.

Only a relatively small number of southerners actually owned slaves. Most southerners were to poor to own slaves. The fight was primarliy over state rights, which of course involved the right to own slaves.

Camp David was a really messed up deal, the palestinian state would not have the right to control its own borders, airspace and water resources. Would Israel accept the proposal if such things would have applied to them?

To demolish all settlements weren't in the plan, the plan was to give palestinians israeli land in exchange of keeping settlements. Basicly shittie land was offered and the palestinians did not accept it.

I agree, but in a way it is like saying a woman is a little bit pregnant. Slavery, is slavery, is slavery and has been around virtually since the beginning of mankind, and from what I understand there is still slave trade, in a few parts of the world, to this very day. I think the Sudan is one, if I recall correctly.

No way. You're way off. Detroit wasn't the "end" of the underground railroad my friend. For the bulk of blacks the end was Canada. Just because after the big conflict many chose to return to the US and settle in Detroit is irrelivant. When slaves talked of freedom, they talked of reaching Canada.
