i have been having a rough time the past 9 days,
having panic attacks and anxiety from the time i wake up until i go to sleep ......not fucking fun the doctor i went to see wouldn't give me a prescription for a drug to make me feel better  he told me i would be called by a psychiatrist.....im guessing thats going to be 5 months...  my regular doctor is on vacation for another month ... if you have xanax or valium lying around i could REALLY use it i will pay you whatever you need please get in contact with me: icq: 120594593 e: madawg at gmail dot com thank you

i study meds.. and i have to say, when somebody like you stepsin to my office, i give them one or two tablets but no prescription.why?? cause they are sooooo addictive
stay away from those things .. STAY AWAY!! just a good advice. try with some valeriaan (some nature product) or with relaxation technisues, works also great but it asks a little more time

Man, I feel really bad for you. I used to have panic attacks but I cured them. I wish I had extra V's to give you.
Stay away from Zanax ... bad longterm side affects. My advice .... everytime you have a panic attack, walk outside, take a deep breath and close your eyes. Count to 100 and while you are counting choose your favorite things to count. Like 1 hot dog, 2 sunsets and so on. After you have calmed down a little, drop on the floor and do as many pushups as you can. Then sit on the floor and stretch as much as you can. Get back up, take another deep breath, exhale slow and go back to your day. Hope it helps man, it helped me.

DO NOT take xanax, i am addicted to xanax, and it is noooooooooo fun. it top's heroin addiction i figure, i can't go 12 hours w/o it. it has been a year now and i was taking 6 - 8mg a day at my peak. and i am down to taking .5 mg 4x a day. my doctor and i are slowly working to get rid of the addiction, but let me say, it is HELL. |

i am living proof of xanax addiction, and how bad it is. i was turned on to it because drinking with ativan causes me to black out, however the xanax didn't make me black out. but anyways, back to the subject...it is a bad bad bad drug, sure it helps you short term, but it is too easy to get addicted to it. plus you get more anxiety and worst symptoms coming off it, then you originaly had! xanax = bad |

Dood, I have anxiety issues, too. At one point they were so bad I thought I had MS, and I miscarried and bled for three months!

So, I tried EFT, and you know, I haven't freaked out, yelled back, or even had a panic attack reaction because of them screaming since I did it. *shrug* Who knows, maybe it's a placebo effect, but who cares? I can calmly deal with them screaming instead of screaming back at them which only reinforced the screaming, right? |

I understand where you are as I have suffered from panic attacks and actually drove myself to the emergency room one night during a panic attack. That sucked!
I went to my doctor and told him that I was having panic attacks and situational anxiety and he prescribed me Xanax with no questions asked. He has been my doctor for years so he knows that I'm not a drug addict. You can't go to a brand new doctor asking for any sort of controlled substance like that without them questioning your motives. Look at it this way. Doctors probably see 100 patients a day and 5 - 10 (10%) have legitimate problems where the rest are just looking for scripts. How would you react if your medical license was at risk if you just signed scripts like Barry Bonds signs autographs? Matter of fact, they just busted a local Doctor's Walk-in Clinic for basically being a dealer for pain killers with a medical license. All that education and hard work just got tossed out the window because they wanted to make a quick buck. If you need someone to talk to about Anxiety or panic attacks then please contact me...my contact info is in my sig. I have read tons of books on it and can do what I can to help.

You don't appreciate Xanax until you have a panic attack that replicates a heart attack, whether it's shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, pain in arms and jaw (women get pain in the jaw before a heart attack, go figger) etc.
Stress will kill you, but try some homeopathic alternatives before you get into controlled substances.

cut it down to max 4 hours a day and get a physical hard work job. Something like working on a contruction yard or something like that. You will earn just the same money and it will help get your life back I promise you that.

If you really have to take benzos, I suggest taking Clonazepam (Klonopin) instead. They are less addictive, the half-life is longer and you won't feel sleepy.

madawgz, like many have said on the thread, your anxiety is caused by a mix of 'cabin fever' - feeling couped up in your house/room, anti-social behaviour kicking in and the feeling of 'indirection' in your life.
Seriously - you need to get out of the house. If you do live with your parents, I can hear them pushing you to get off the computer and continuously nagging you to get a life. Soon, you're friends will stop calling, your family will become more persistent and you'll start getting those anxiety attacks more often and most likely, depression will start hitting you soon. You need to step away from the computer. If you're 18, you have the world in front of you. Don't get caught up on taking meds. See a therapist to help you help you find your direction - what do you want to do in life? How do you get there? What tools do you need? You can't let the computer detach you totally from life - it will make you sick in so many ways. |

You've probably heard this a million times already but it's true....
(1) cut down on the caffiene (2) cut down on the alcohol (3) cut down on fatty/sugary foods (4) cut down on computer usage (5) increase fresh air (6) increase fresh food (7) increase exercise (8) take deep breaths and exhale twice as long as the inhale. talking to other people about it can in itself reduce the anxiety... try not to let it stop you doing things, that will only make you worse....
