it is when you're taking 4+ milligrams a day....infact its so addictive...many doctors call it the hardest drug to stop taking in the world
infact 50% of all patients taking 1-2mg a day...stay on it the rest of their lives
less than 2% are able to stop at the 4mg level
and almost no one can stop taking it once it goes to 8mg & above (i.e. cancer patients using it for pain & anxiety)
and cold-turkey stopping the intake of xanax at levels higher than 4mg for more than 3+ months...leads to seizures & almost certain death
it has to be tapered down over several months, even years
one of the most dangerous & addictive drugs on the planet
you just don't realize it when you take 1-2mg every now & then
