I understand where you are as I have suffered from panic attacks and actually drove myself to the emergency room one night during a panic attack. That sucked!
I went to my doctor and told him that I was having panic attacks and situational anxiety and he prescribed me Xanax with no questions asked. He has been my doctor for years so he knows that I'm not a drug addict. You can't go to a brand new doctor asking for any sort of controlled substance like that without them questioning your motives.
Look at it this way. Doctors probably see 100 patients a day and 5 - 10 (10%) have legitimate problems where the rest are just looking for scripts. How would you react if your medical license was at risk if you just signed scripts like Barry Bonds signs autographs? Matter of fact, they just busted a local Doctor's Walk-in Clinic for basically being a dealer for pain killers with a medical license. All that education and hard work just got tossed out the window because they wanted to make a quick buck.
