Non Math Riddles

Lets start with easy. (may progress into some simple math)

Something unusual happened in 1978, on the 6th of May, 34 minutes past noon, what was it?

Dusen 08-13-2003 05:52 PM

Elvis died?

Just a guess. I have no idea otherwise.

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 05:53 PM

nah.

queer 08-13-2003 05:55 PM

Did Elvis LEAVE the building?
I'm limited in my foreign matters, I never met Elvis :(

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 05:57 PM

Cmon that is an easy one.

Hell whoever answers the most of my riddles correctly in the next 24 hours will get 100.00 worth of www.fantasycontent.com content (excluding plug ins, exclusive, and resale material).

Tala 08-13-2003 05:58 PM

roly 08-13-2003 05:59 PM

12345678 = 12:34 on 5/6/78

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:00 PM

Taly will accept, roly correct as well.

queer 08-13-2003 06:00 PM

KRosh 08-13-2003 06:02 PM

The Defence Planning Committee of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization met in Ministerial Session in Brussels.

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:02 PM

That question over (rule being for contest answers after I state one correct will not be counted for total)

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:04 PM

though they have the same end-spelling, NONE of them rhyme.

Sorry clarification.

After I post on here that someone has answered a given question, all answeres to that question that come after that post will not count toward the total correctly answered riddles for the contest.

Make sense or do I need to translate my brain more?

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:08 PM

tala, roly correct.

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:09 PM

Give two reasons why a manhole cover is round?

KRosh 08-13-2003 06:09 PM

Something about the weird phonology of English - words spelt the same and sounding different (rough, though and cough) and words spelt differently but that sound the same

KRosh 08-13-2003 06:10 PM

A square cover you can tip up on edge and drop through the hole on the diagonal, if you follow me. Similarly with ovals. A circular hole, however, will defy the most determined efforts in this regard. (Bear in mind that there's a lip around the inside of the manhole that the cover rests on; this effectively makes the diameter of the manhole an inch or so less than that of the cover.) This means manholes are one of the few things in the universe that are absolutely goofproof.

Until they make better goofs, that is. :thumbsup

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:14 PM

That is one reason.
They will not fall through.
Need second reason.

completetosser 08-13-2003 06:15 PM

If the red house is built of red bricks, and the blue house is built of blue bricks, what is the green house built of?

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:16 PM

glass. waiting on second reason.

KRosh 08-13-2003 06:16 PM

To ensure a tightly sealed fit. Additionally, the manufacture of circular manhole covers is easier and more accurate than the manufacture of covers of any other shape. Lastly, round manhole covers, once removed, require less lifting and less manpower, as their shape allows them to be rolled.

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:17 PM

krosh got it.

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:18 PM

The maker doen't want it, the buyer doesn't use it, and the user doesn't see it, what is it?

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:23 PM

Have I gotten to difficult to fast?

Homonyms as we English call them :-)

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:25 PM

Hell if this thread goes on far enough to win something the contest winner can have that as well. I do not want it or need it.

KRosh 08-13-2003 06:28 PM

DJRCyberAVS 08-13-2003 06:29 PM

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:33 PM

Which one of the following words does not belong with the others and why?

Father
Aunt
Sister
Cousin
Mother
Uncle
DJRCyberAVS 08-13-2003 06:36 PM

Cousin because all the other define a 'sex'.

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:38 PM

DJRCyberAVS correct

Tala 08-13-2003 06:38 PM

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 06:50 PM

While reading a story of an axe murderer. Jane fell asleep and dreamt she was being chased through the some apartments and the murderer caught her and swung the axe. Just as the murderers axe was swung, jane ran into a room, shut the door and touched her neck to awaken her. The shock was so great she died instantly.

Is there anything wrong with this story? (typos, punctuation, and grammer do not count).
