If someone said to you. "I will bet you $1 that is you give me $2. I will give you $3 in return", would this be a good bet for you to take?

Explain.

should that say *if* you give me $2?

Not sure what you mean but I guess no...cause if you win you'll only make a buck and if he wins he'll make two.. LOL

DJRCyberAVS 08-13-2003 09:43 PM

No because somehow you'd end up with $1... when I figure out why.

stevet 08-13-2003 09:43 PM

No. The other person could take your $2 and say they lost. Theyd have to give you $1

Heh, heh, no. If you give him two bucks, he can just say, "I lose," and give you one dollar back. He comes out ahead $1.

Anyway - it's a pub sign for the Pig and Whistle. It had to be repainted so that there was the same spacing between pig and and and and and whistle.

There's a similar one where you can use the word 'had' 11 times in a row, but I can't remember it.

A farmer in California owns a beautiful pear tree. He supplies the fruit to a nearby grocery store. The store owner has called the famer to she how much fruit is available for him to purchase. The farmer knows that the main trunk has 24 branches. Each branch has excatly 12 boughs and each bough has excactly 6 twigs. Since each twig bears one piece of fruit, how many plums will the farmer be able to deliver?

stevet 08-13-2003 09:50 PM

Its a pear tree. None.

freeadultcontent 08-13-2003 09:51 PM

Zero considering plums don't grow on pear trees.

Murder mystery time. Get your theory caps on for this murder.

A man was found assassinated in his 51st floor hotel room which had been locked from within by the dead bolt. He was slouched in a chair in front of one of the windows in the room. The carpet below the window drapes was damp. The only sound in the room was the steady drone of the air conditioner. A bullet had entered the back of his head and was lodged in the base of his skull. It was determined he was shot and killed exactly where he sat, and that the bullet had been fired from well over 150 feet away. The man had been dead for several hours. Since the windows were closed and the glass unbroken, plus there were no bullet entry holes anywhere in the room aside from the one in the body. How was the assassinastion carried out?

stevet 08-13-2003 10:00 PM

I've heard one similar to this. The window was propped open with ice.

I don't like this kind of "riddle" because it's really farfetched and silly.

SpaceAce

DJRCyberAVS 08-13-2003 10:02 PM

The window was open at the time of the assassination, but blew closed afterwards with the wind or something like that.

stevet 08-13-2003 10:02 PM

Yup this ones gay. Window held open with ice. Ice melted, window shut itself.

Back to wozzer the magician.

Wozzer the magician, was carrying three pieces of gold, each weighing one kilogram. While strolling the forest he came to a bridge which posted a sign saying the bridge could hold a maximum of 80 kilograms. Wozzer weighs 78 kilograms and the gold weighs 3 kilograms. Wozzer read the sign and safely crossed the bridge with all the gold. How did he manage this?

stevet 08-13-2003 10:10 PM

Jane is afriad of monsters hiding uner her bed. She ussually runs from her bedroom door and leaps onto her bed so the monster's can't get her. Even though jane's bed is twelve feet from the door, she manages to switch off her light and jump into bed before her room is dark. Since jane doesn't use any device to flip the switch, how can she do this?

No one said the light switch is by the door. Maybe it's a lamp at her bedside.

Edit: Or she goes to bed while it is still light out.
