My answer still stands. It takes more wood to make it as strong as a steel boat.

However, wood would be heavier because it takes more of it to displace the same amount of water that a steel hull displaces, which is how boats float.

close enough. yeah steel is stronger than wood, you would require a shit load more wood to make it of equal strength.

"Answering SteelTab"
--------------------
While travelling at sea, the man (who was a police officer) and the wife were shipwrecked on a deserted island. The man and his wife and a couple of other survivors decided to pair up and hunt for food. While the man and his wife were searching, the wife was attacked by a vicious animal and torn apart from limb to limb. If only he hadn't lost his gun in the ocean, he could have saved her. He returned to camp distrought at the loss of his wife, and waited for the others to return. When the others returned, they were excited because they had found an albatross. They cooked it up and convinced the man to eat enough to keep him alive. To his surprise, he really enjoyed the albatross. The survivors were rescued soon after. Months later the man, having a sudden craving for albatross, went to a restraunt and ordered up a plate. When he took a bite, it did not taste the same. A horrible revelation crept over him. Realizing the albatross on the island was not an albatross, but his dismembered wife, he could not go on living. He then proceeded to pull the gun from his pocket and shot himself in the head.

I'd say fishing boats are not made of steel but im probably wrong, but overall wood is lighter than steel. Which is why you don't see boats made out of steel.. [probably completely wrong]

I switched words to slow down googlers.

Normally it is ship.

Here's the exact version (word to word)

A man sits down at a restaurant and orders a plate of Albatross (a large seagull). After tasting it, he proceeds to pull a gun out of his pocket and shoot himself in the head.

Since pound for pound steel is so much stronger than wood, the ship made of wood would require a great deal of more material for it to be of equal strength.

cause it's one hundred one 101 not one hundred and one, meaning one thousand is the first whole number.

SilverTab 08-13-2003 11:42 PM

There are 4 men who "Have" to cross a log bridge "Right Now" !!!

They all begin on the SAME side.

You have 17 minutes to get all of them across to the OTHER side.
They all must be together on the OTHER side of the log bridge at the end of the 17 minutes.

It is night. There is ONE flashlight. A maximum of 2 people can cross at one time. Any party who crosses, either 1 or 2 people, Must have the flashlight with them. The flashlight must be WALKED back and forth, it cannot be thrown, etc. Each man walks at a different speed. A pair must walk together at the rate of the SLOWER man's pace.

Man 1 - 1 minute to cross
Man 2 - 2 minutes to cross
Man 3 - 5 minutes to cross
Man 4 - 10 minutes to cross

I cleaned out my shed, dragging things out and filling boxes with crap I had collected. While doing so I pulled out a bucket tthat weighed 52 ounces. I put somethings into the bucket and it weighed less. What?

At a local bar, three friends, Mr. Green, Mr. Red and Mr. Blue, were having a drink. One man was wearing a red suit; one a green suit; and the other a blue suit. "Have you noticed," said the man the blue suit, "that although our suits have colors corresponding to our names, not one of us is wearing a suit that matches our own names?" Mr. Red looked at the other two and said, "You're absolutely correct."

What color suit is each man wearing?

Just popped back in (Americans never 'pop' anywhere BTW ) to say - that's bollocks. We say one hundred and one. When did you ever hear a darts commentator say 'one hundred eighty'?It's 'one hundred AND eighty'.

And on that slightly controversial note - I'm really going to bed this time :)
