I think Saddam's regime should be eradicated as soon as possible, but not so the US can install a new dictator that does give his oil to the US. Instead, I think the UN should work together to eradicate all regimes violating human rights. However, the US attacking by themselves and installing a government of their choice will only make matters worse for the local population, as history has shown us too many times already.

I think the Germans and Japanese are faring pretty well. We installed governments in both countries. General MacArthur practically wrote the current Japanese constitution.

I think the President will and ought to get his resolution - but not a blank check like that one.
