Bull fucking shit. Typical conservative bullshit used to obscure the fact that it was an unwinnable war from day one. We dropped more bombs on Vietnam than we dropped in WWII, and we couldn't fucking pacify a village for longer than 24 hours. Every fucking action we took served as a recruiting tool for the Viet Cong and NVA. The liberals originally got us in there to save Diem's Catholic anit-communist ass, and the conservatives kept us there protecting some folks every bit as delightful as Saddam (but they were "anti-communist"). The people didn't want us there ... they beat us twice (the first time they beat the French, but we paid for it all). They fought the French, they stopped fighting the French to fight the Japanese, then they fought the French again, and finally us. If we'd "won" we'd still have a fucking army of occupation over there.
