Damn you guys just don't get.... You really are a fag if you think a Harley is cool.

The only other people that think Harley's are cool, are other Harley Fags. Get it yet?

yup.

the fact that harley sells more bikes than any other marque means there are more assholes on harleys, simply due to the #s. the bmw crowd is similar to harley (& ducati) in that many look at it as a lifestyle brand, and always go full aerostich ATGATT for a quick run to starbucks, some of those looking down on others for not doing so at all times. do they tell other riders this in person, not really, but they go online and do so.

Why are you buying/own a Harley?

Think about it, fags used to dance around and say, hey look everyone, vroom vroom I'm a fag, look at me.. when they didn't get enough attention, they got louder.. hence the term fag for Harley riders.

Or maybe another way, they're attention whores which is what a fag is, but to be a fag you have to parade around a bit more and announce it with a bunch of others.

I have had bikes for 30 years now, currently have a few; my Harley is 2000 Dyna Wide Glide that is fully chromed, Corbin seat and all the bells and whistles. I keep looking at the new Harley's but to me none of them look as good as the Wide Glide did...

You have it wrong, harleys are cool bikes, having one doesn't make you cool nor a fag. Buying one for the sole purpose of looking cool or making noise makes you a fag.

i buy harleys because i like them, i've owned a harley or 2 for the last 25 years or so. but i like motorcycles and own several. i consider motorcycles to be works of art or at the very least a canvas for a work of art.

straight pipes (loud pipes) have always been put on harleys for decades and decades. south park is where the fag reference comes from, that's new.

True... then all the Harley riders should have no problem respecting other peoples peace. Or maybe kids sleeping in the car, house, or old people with hearing aids, or people outside in general... Why not change the pipes out, make the bike quite?

I'll admit, the bikes 'look' cool.

But only fags need them to be loud.

No, it's not new... they made it popular though and defined what fag was in this context. People have been calling you guys douche bags, assholes, and fags from day one.

well, the bikes come from the factory with a quiet exhaust but yes, some harley riders want the the loudest pipes they can get, which i don't necc. agree with. and many of those seem to enjoy waking up the neighbors, something i completely disagree with.

the bike in the pic i posted has an aftermarket exhaust but i chose a quiet baffle option for it, mainly because that increases low-end torque.

I always felt weird cruisin down a a quite street in the middle of the night to pick up a bootie call but the girl would come out of the house with no shame.

I seem to be more into cafe racers... I like the looks of a few harley's but if I got a bike again it would be between a Polaris Victory Hammer, Motto Guzzi Bellagio, or Triumph Thruxton or Rocket III

that's like saying all toyota drivers are fags because ricers like loud pipes.

In general i think men like things that make noise period. Like shooting guns. The noise represents power, loud things say " here i am, i am powerfull, don't fuck with me"

Other than every Toyota built doesn't sound like a rice rocket that's missing a beat. And fag isn't limited to Harley riders, they just have the biggest following.

I thought this was the Harley slogan already? "here i am, i am powerfull, don't fuck with me"

well, h-d has certainly marketed their products with the *i'm a badass* angle and it's worked extremely well for them up till the recent economic downturn that has hurt all mc sales, they are now left with the daunting proposition of reinventing themselves going forward and also trying to capture younger riders and female riders.

while the h-d execs have made some serious blunders (turning themselves into a loan institution more than a manufacturer, etc) i do think they can sort it out.

That's kinda a bogus comparo.

Most Ducati owners who have a second bike have a BMW.

what's a bogus comparo? all 3 are lifestyle brands, moreover, ducati and bmw both strive to market/brand like h-d.

not a single ducati rider i ride with owns a bmw and the bmw riders i know/chat with don't have a ducati.

why do bmw riders or non harley riders not yank out the sound baffling from their exhaust?
i am guessing they could be just as loud..
someone told me it is illegal to take out the baffling, but atleast in california the police dont go after the harley drivers, is this true?

i can see the coolness of riding in a group, making some noise and turning some heads, look at us, we are cool, chicks you know you wanna fuck us cuz we are bad asses..

i have never ridden a Harley, though i have been riding motorcycles since i was 10 years old.
the bikes themselves are a pieces of art, Americano style.
i do wanna say that ONLY harley drivers will suit up to go get a starbucks down the block.. well perhaps some cafe racers will to but they rarely wear any serious gear.

That's what make them fags... you're not really a bad ass, a motorcycle doesn't make you a bad ass. It being the #1 seller in America, kinda proves the point - a bunch of fags driving around acting like bad asses.

Not all of you are fags... just most.

you have a good eye, i did look to super motards for inspiration.

lot's of trickery on this bike, i built it to handle as good as a big twin possibly can, chopped ~80 pounds off, all high-perf suspension, composite brake rotors/brembo calipers, lightweight racing wheels, all the fun stuff + 100hp

and everything's always for sale lolz!

another pic

someone told me it is illegal to take out the baffling, but atleast in california the police dont go after the harley drivers, is this true?

i can see the coolness of riding in a group, making some noise and turning some heads, look at us, we are cool, chicks you know you wanna fuck us cuz we are bad asses..

i have never ridden a Harley, though i have been riding motorcycles since i was 10 years old.
the bikes themselves are a pieces of art, Americano style.
i do wanna say that ONLY harley drivers will suit up to go get a starbucks down the block.. well perhaps some cafe racers will to but they rarely wear any serious gear.
well, i change the exhaust on all my vehicles, but a gold wing with a pipe just does not sound good to anyone, just using that as an example. at the local biker bar i stop by at, a guy had a pipe on his 1200 bmw and it sounded really good.

also, with ducati for instance, it's virtually required to replace the stock exhaust with an aftermarket one that makes the bike sound more like a ducati.

well, i don't ride this bike in the rain, so no real amount of crap gets thrown up onto me/the bike but it's just part of the look i was going for. my days of riding in the rain are over, too risky here in los angeles imo and we don't get a lot of rain anyhoo.

thx for the compliment on the pic.

I think Harley's, when seen from the perspective as purely a "machine" with none of that absolute bullshit "lifestyle" marketing surrounding them, are fine for cruising around. I think most Harley riders buy into that terrible lifestyle scam in between their days at the office, but only a very few truely ruin it for the rest of them.

Most Harley riders get points for not racing around like crotch rockets (mostly because their reaction times are begining to show signs of wear in their old years ), but at the same time, they lose points for their insanely loud pipes. As if your giant chrome bike isn't already slow enough, you've ruined the tuned exhaust setup and probably hurt your power numbers.

Harley riders get because for the most part, they're aware that their bikes do one thing good, and only one thing: Cruising. My car isn't the newest or fastest sports car around, no, but it still runs faster than most modern harleys, which says something.

Cruising: Yay. Power/Handling: Nay. Style: Your call

Ps: Loud pipes don't save lives, volunteer fire fighter buddy of a friend of mine who rides a cruiser (I think a yamaha or something, i dunno) says that during our short (4 or 5 months if we're lucky) riding season, he typically see's about a 50/50 split of cruisers/sport bikes that have been munched as a result of driver's not seeing them. The difference between the cruisers and the rockets? The cruisers are loud as shit, the crotch rockets are quiet. "Doesn't matter how loud you are, someone will ALWAYS turn left in front of you, the difference between the crotchet and the cruiser? The cruisers are always going slow as shit and are able to avoid people who turn in front of them more than the speeding crotch rockets"

ahhh, the crest. will be happy when it opens up again. these days i am mostly in san pedro, you are in pasadena eh?

i like riding in the rain but being primarily a 1 man show, i can't risk jeopardizing my business. when i lived in nor cal going to college, the only vehicles i had were bikes and rode a lot in that crappy weather up there. some crazy times traveling over the bay bridge in pouring rain and a ridiculous cross-wind, good times!

This is one day of riding to work. It's sped up a little bit but you can count how many times a car cuts you off.

But when owning a bike, it's natural to see it coming. Usually.
Been riding for ever 30 years like this, and knock on wood. I've had no falls.
Lots of close calls, that's why I hate ABS breaks. I like stopping.
I shot this to show my friends that want to buy their first bikes, not too.
The streets aren't what they used to be 20 years ago.

Impressive stats, lol. That vid tells me one thing, though: People in LA are used to riders year round, so they're used to looking for them. When you're lane splitting, quite a few people move over in their lane to make room. Bikes might as well be invisible here Even though lanesplitting is illegal, all the guys on bikes do it, and in general, people try to prevent them from passing. As a result, they typically just ride down the shoulder in heavy traffic.

I guess lanesplitting is legal there? Lucky.

regarding impressive stats.

Yes, its legal here. If it weren't I would not own a bike.
That is why we ride bikes out here, to avoid the traffic usually.

I've gone on rides from here to AZ, and it's crazy because you are not in traffic and can't split lanes. What a tease.

As you can see in the video, people cross the double lines all the time, good thing I have A.D.D, I try and predict what everyone is going to do as I approach them.

I would never ride on the shoulder, that is crazy.
