                                                                                                      Tjuhone (the psychoactive ingredient in wormwood of which absinth is made, yes without the 'e) is FAR from THC in both its 'construction' and its high.

                                                                                                      And all absinth isnt at 70% dood, normal green absinth standard is 60% (as per Martin Sebor), even though that lovely british smooth one is at only 55%.

                                                                                                      When absinth ends up near the 75%, its normally even red.

                                                                                                      And its not the skin of the banana either, its the semi-icky stuff thats between the banana and the skin that some people often peels off. Dont get why though.

                                                                                                              Apparently you take a lot at face value. The banana skins are not literally smoked, they are soaked in absinthe, then baked at low temp so as not to remove the alcohol, and then the active ingredients are scrapped off. That is what is smoked. (It's legal by the way).

                                                                                                              You are also wrong about Tujone and THC. I am very familiar with the folk-science which (I believe in order to keep absinthe legal), states that there is no similarity between Tujone and THC, but read this account by an actual chemistry scientist:

                                                                                                              The toxicity of thujone in the brain is believed to result from its structural similarity to tetrahydrocannibinol, or THC (3), the active compound in marijuana. Cannabis has been used for centuries for medicinal purposes and has great therapeutic potential[8]. The similarities between the molecules include gem dimethyl groups and a similar carbon framework.
