Impressive stats, lol. That vid tells me one thing, though: People in LA are used to riders year round, so they're used to looking for them. When you're lane splitting, quite a few people move over in their lane to make room. Bikes might as well be invisible here
Even though lanesplitting is illegal, all the guys on bikes do it, and in general, people try to prevent them from passing. As a result, they typically just ride down the shoulder in heavy traffic.
I guess lanesplitting is legal there? Lucky.
