I agree. Dems seem too selective. I was speaking to a hardcore republican, and he said all republicans vote republican regardless of who's running. The unity they display would do dems some good. I know some dems that would vote green or republican if they liked their policies.

The real question is who's campaign does Ron Paul running independant ruin. He will get a nice chunk of someones pie. Im just hoping he steals from any of the republican candidates. Half you chumps will lose your job when and if Mccain, Guliani, Huckabee, or Romney get elected.

One of the things I hated about LA was fucking 16 year olds in the bars. I did enjoy taking one punk's $20 in a pool game though. His sister coming to his rescue was priceless.

While I still respect McCain and think he will be the Republican candidate, I don't like his support of the war in Iraq. If Huckabee were not a Baptist minister, I'd really consider voting for him. All of the Republican candidates are more seriously flawed than any of the top 3 Democrats.

I'm not a big Hillary or Obama fan, but they'll get us out of Iraq and straighten out the rest of the mess Bush and his policies have created both domestically and internationally. I think Edwards is the best of the Democratic candidates and a better choice than any of the Republicans.

This is a joke. If hilary or obama goes up against romney or mccain they will lose by 10%.

Hell, if I remember correctly, one of the few laws they actually have that they stick to in NOLA is that you can't bury dead peeps in the ground... they all have to be above ground... because if you bury a casket, it'll pop back up and float away the next big rain.

You have got to be kidding me. ALL of the republicans are the same old shit. Romney will say anything to get elected. Talk about flip flopping this guy takes the prize.

McCain would be ok, but he doesn't want to leave Iraq and would be our oldest prez. Not gonna happen, he just looks like an angry old man now.

After 8 years of the village idiot, it's time for someone smart to give it a shot.
I'd prefer the constitutional attorney to the life time politician, so the nod goes to Obama.

Once again you people don't realize Presidents aren't elected on the popular vote. We use the electoral college and if the electoral college votes were proportional you could make a case for Obama, but they aren't. That's how come Bush got Florida's 25 electoral votes even though he won by 600 votes out of 6 MILLION.

As I have stated time and time again please go look at a electoral map and show me which red states Obama wins because he's not winning an election just winning the states Gore and Kerry won.

Oh and please don't tell me "well the dems will win Florida or Ohio" because so far they're 0-4 in that department since 2000. What's plan B if that doesn't pan out? Obama gets black votes. So what even Kucinich would get 90% of the black vote. Obama was raised in hawaii and is from illinois. 2 states that vote democrat all the time anyways. So that's no any help.

It doesn;t matter if Obama wins NY or California or any other normally democratic state by larger margin that Gore or Kerry. You can win by ONE vote and you get ALL the electoral votes. Who cares. I'm still waiting for the answer to my question on what Obama brings to the table in winning at least one probably needing 2 red states. Which states are these? No Obama supporter has even mention ONE so far.

I know in your world nothing ever changes, just like your underwear.

Let go back a few years. Do you remember when the south was a democratic stronghold. Things change, they always do.

A famous saying goes "it's about the economy stupid". People are hurting and they will vote against the party in charge just to see what happens.

If you are right, then why even have elections. Just use the last map with red states and blue states and give out the electoral votes.

Just a few months ago it was a Clinton vs Gulliani election. Now look.

You are deluded if you think the electoral map is gonna read the same. There are a lot of rust belt red states that are going blue my friend. They got snookered with the religious thing, but now they have less in their wallets so all bets are off.

You are making the presumption that these people would even bother voting in the first place.

No one here is taking account a possible run by Bloomberg either. If he runs, anyone could win the general election, be they black, female, or pro-100 years war.

Either way, whoever wins is going to be fucked. If you really like a candidate, I'd suggest not voting for them, because then they'll have another shot in 2012.
A lot of damage has been done over the past 5 years (blame Bush and Greenspan) and the recovery process will be forced and ugly.

The next president is just going to be spending all his time fixing Bush's mess anyway. It will be hard to measure their success until after their term is up, unless they stay the course and keep it all fucked up.

Not sure on your data here. The age of 41 might be correct, but the Romans being sold into slavery sort of throws me.

My point was that Caesar and Alexander would ride into battle with their men, sometimes in front of them, not wear costume jump suits for cameras (although Caesar probably would have done this had he the ability to grasp the simplicity of the public audience to that extreme at the time) and miss his weekend reserve meetings while snorting cocaine and whoring (as opposed to doing these later things after in celebration).

Almost?

Insofar as I realize, the Democratic Party hasn't chosen a nominee yet, and Edwards is still highly regarded. I currently plan to cast my vote for him a week from Tuesday in California's primary.

I might have decided to vote for Ron Paul - but the Republican Party has excluded Non-Partisan voters from voting for a Republican candidate in the California Primary... possibly for that very reason.
I would actually vote for Edwards too. He reminds me of Slick Willy, but Edwards doesn't have a chance so prepare yourself accordingly

Well, a case could be made that he could win any or all of these states: Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas and Virginia. All of these were states that were won by Bush in 2004, but in each case the margin of victory was less than 10% and in the case of Iowa it was actually less than 1%. New Mexico and Nevada were also won by Bush by less than 3%. If you go back and look at the maps from when Bill Clinton ran in 1992 and 1996 he actually won a handful of southern states. So the idea of of a democrat winning a southern state is not that far removed from reality. Obama could go into a couple of these states where they have a large black population and get them to vote for him. That might be enough to push him over the top in the closer states.

I'm not saying he would pull it off, but there are at least 6 states that Bush won in the last election that Obama would have a chance of winning.

I think kane is right on this one. The religious right is not strongly supporting *any* of the Republican candidates. All but Huckabee have a pro-choice history; Huckabee is to the left on everything else. The demographic that were strong Bush supporters has now taken the attitude of "whoever is the least worst."

Also throw in the Mormon thing, a lot of Southern voters will feel more comfortable for voting for a Christian black. (no clue about Hillary.) Thats assuming Romney makes it.

Fuck you can debate this all day long, no one has a fucking clue who will win. However I think at this point *anyone* could win. If you have a particularly "un-electable" candidate, then Bloomberg will run, and that unelectable person could win without a majority of the vote just like Bill Clinton did.

Yep, many leaders of the christian right have already said they won't support most of the candidates. Since Huckabee really has no chance of getting the nomination it will come down to one of the others and they don't really care for any of them. If the dem ends up being hillary they might support the republican simply because they hate hillary, but if it is obama (or if edwards pulls off a miracle) they may not. I don't know that they would vote for obama, but there is a strong chance many wouldn't vote for the republican either. They would just not vote, or support a third candidate that they liked. If the republican has a lack of far right support and you factor in that we are still in the middle of a republican backlash and if obama can get the young people and the black people to support him, he could win a few of the "opportunity states".

In the end it is a crap shoot. The voters are fickle. Three months ago the polls showed the #1 thing on people's minds in regards to the election was Iraq. Now its the economy and who knows what it will be in another 3 or 6 months. The hot candidate now could be cold in a few months and if Bloomberg enters the race who knows what would happen.

Everyone forgets that, time after time, after time.

Anyone who goes into the white house, except Ron Paul, will be just be a puppet for the word bankers who are really calling the shots. And if Ron Paul does get in by some freak chance, he will be killed.

The government is not run by "we the people" as it was suggest in the constitution. Not even close. We have nothing to do with anything other than to be made to believe otherwise, keeping working and pay our taxes.

I wouldn't go betting the farm that just because a democrat gets elected the porn industry is safe. The big players probably are (as always like in any business), but these whores and prostitutes go on public opinion and change with the wind.

Remember that either Feinstein or Boxer (forget which one) came after the Mitchell brothers in Orange County (...and LOST!),

And not one of these candidates have the balls (and/or cunt hairs) to attack any real issues. We're not talking about people who want anything more than winning a class president election. They'll end up attacking things like welfare mothers and what flag can be flown where and when as opposed the things like foreign policy, the environment or even the economy (except to take credit for it when or if it finally pulls itself back up to par) even though they're on the other side of the spectrum.

If the wicked witch gets the nomination you will the Republicans unified like never before and despite what the media has done to protect her, all dirt past and present will come out. Obama would be more difficult to defeat since he hardly any track record to call into question.

I think McCain, Romney or Giuliani could beat her. With the exception of his position on Iraq and the surge, I really can't tell any difference between McCain and most liberal democrats, and in the end, I don't think he'll get the nomination.

There are really only 4 viable candidates at this point. As far as Republicans go you’re looking at McCain the crazy old angry man or Mitt the crazy Mormon. Both candidates are really flawed in that they turn off a huge segment within the Republican party. Rush Limbgah says if McCain gets the nomination it will destroy the Republican Party. Simply put he turns off the hardcore conservatives in the party. If Mitt gets it the religious folks in the party will never come out and vote for him because of his religion. He turns off the hardcore religious fundy people in the party. So no they don’t have much of a chance on paper, but the election is a long way away and things tend to change over time.

Obama and Edwards (VP) would run away with it.

People are ready for a fresh, young team for change. Not the crusty old career politians.

What planet do you love on? Seriously, that is the most outlandish statement I have ever heard. Really please read a little more and take a 5 minute break from Fox and Cnn.

I can name one HUGE difference that will change all our loves and thats "net nuetrality. Maccain wants to put the internet up for sale to the highest bidder and the so called liberal dems are the ones who created internet nuetraility.

Edwards/Obama would be the smart move. That's the winning ticket but the dems are too blind to see it through all the "we're going to put a woman/negro in the White House!" hoopla.

Just because I dont waste my time checking every word as I post doesnt mean you have a better grasp on the english language than myself. I will write circles around your uneducated ass. BTW i actually get paid for my words in this life, where yours are worthless and pretty much a waste of time.

I do like the way you skirted your own issue.

Thats not it. He left the computer for no more than a few seconds and someone swapped his 'o' key with the 'i' key.
