Actually the primary reason they do it is for legal reasons. You are less likely to have a complaint against a female officer doing a search on a female than a male doing it on a female.

To be honest, all Melissa would have to do is say that the two cops fondled her in the back. She's a good looking girl which makes it very believable. The tapes make it look like the cops wanted to be alone and not taped during the incident which would make it suspicious. The fact that a female cop was denied along with a bodyguard being present makes it even more odd.

Fact is, the Lincoln Police are stupid for not being more careful with a girl. One cry to a lawyer and she'll have a million dollar lawsuit, tons of publicity, and a disgraced police department.

Laws and ordinances aren't just to punish bad people.. They also protect citizens by preventing gov't from making up their own rules as they go..

I just built a brand new house on a lake with a studio and a big office to do all my work so there is no reason for an outside office. I will deal with the 2257 issue if it comes up but I don't think it will be an issue but if it does I will rent out a small space to be in compliance. Whatever you do Melissa, don't take the high and almighty position that you are now invincible just because you have money. As ironic as it sounds the more successful you are and the more assets you have, the juicier the target you become for prosecutors. They don't waste time on targets with no assets to seize.

And to publicly state you'll deal with 2257 compliance if it comes up, is really not smart, from a legal standpoint.

The objective is to eliminate any prosecutory tool they could use to fuck you up. So you shouldn't leave anything to chance.

I think the point that many are making is that you're walking a fine line. It may be legal but if you push it too far you may end up getting burned.

In the case of your 2257 contact info, you are not compliant. Plain and simple. You're now over that line... do you really want to be the first test case for the new law?

If I were you I'd sort something out ASAP! It's not going to cost you much more to have your lawyer keep copies of the required documentation.

Thanks for the correction - I live outside the USA so I haven't read up on the finer details of the regs. Hopefully some people inside the USA will catch this msg too.

Put something together focusing on the facts of the situation... the ordinances they are throwing at you, the bullshit they've asked you to do... statements from witnesses, and fellow harassees, get some more free public attention on the even, and your website.

You tell me what I have to do that I haven't been doing in order to comply." Then comply to the very letter.. If they have a problem with you acting like you're performing oral sex on a night stick, don't do it.. I doubt that the customers will flock to the exit if you leave that out of your show. You're in a business and businesses, regardless of type, require a certain amount of diplomacy and in some cases, compromise. As KRL said.. in effect.. Don't give them any tools that they can use to rain on your parade..
