It doesnt have anything to do with being in the US.
But, luckily, she is in the US, where she would get her day in court, as compared to other countries where, maybe she would have been sold off in a prostitution ring at a young age, before even becoming a grown woman.
or being forced into it, just to put food on the table.
Or becoming one of a mans many wives, and literally beaten into submission.
