Melissa.. you might consider having your attorney set up a meeting with the mayor and city attorney, with ordinance in hand, and say, "Ok.. this is my profession.. You tell me what I have to do that I haven't been doing in order to comply."
Then comply to the very letter..
If they have a problem with you acting like you're performing oral sex on a night stick, don't do it.. I doubt that the customers will flock to the exit if you leave that out of your show.
You're in a business and businesses, regardless of type, require a certain amount of diplomacy and in some cases, compromise.
As KRL said.. in effect.. Don't give them any tools that they can use to rain on your parade..
