Actually the primary reason they do it is for legal reasons. You are less likely to have a complaint against a female officer doing a search on a female than a male doing it on a female.

To be honest, all Melissa would have to do is say that the two cops fondled her in the back. She's a good looking girl which makes it very believable. The tapes make it look like the cops wanted to be alone and not taped during the incident which would make it suspicious. The fact that a female cop was denied along with a bodyguard being present makes it even more odd.

Fact is, the Lincoln Police are stupid for not being more careful with a girl. One cry to a lawyer and she'll have a million dollar lawsuit, tons of publicity, and a disgraced police department.
