There's no point in arguing with him Jackson, he just doesn't get it, we've already managed to come together as a team on one major board and get it banned a while ago. if they weren't doing anything wrong then why are they so willing to help get rid of it? Clearly something he does not understand.

Maybe you missed what I said earlier, I'll restate it for you..... Every fiber of my being as a webmaster says that it is fundamentally wrong to take, collect or accept content that doesn't belong to you, set up a pay site or any type of pay interface, and then charge the surfer money to view what amounts to content that you do not personally own or have rights to use.

That should be clear enough for you, shouldn't it?
Give Google some time, they are amassing pages through their search spider and Web Accelerator in order to create their own form of the Internet, which they will charge a monthly fee for. So Google will be worse than GUBA, but you and others obviously dont care about preventing something. If you would have went after usenet users to begin with then GUBA probably wouldnt have been created, now it's too late.

I for one would not want our work up on Guba from news groups. They are welcome to license the images for use on their site from matrixcontent.com.

True, Easynews and other sites like that are charging a monthly fee for usenet access (ex: 10$ a month for 10gigs of download etc.)... the difference is they don't shove it in our face...nor try to skin GFY..I also don't think they re-encode videos...now im not saying they are any better, but..
it's like a password site trying to skin GFY and saying "Hey there are other password sites out there"...

You wonder why people arent making threads whining about easynews? Well it's probably because NO ONE from easynews ever posted here...

So, you are able to type more than 6 words in a post. :D

Too late? My boy, it's never too late. Didn't anyone ever tell you that?

In fact, this backlash seems to be just getting started. I would never be so arrogant as to decree that something like this is "too late" to do anything about.

Cheers and much luck to you.

Wow.. I'm actually shocked at the number of paysite owners etc. in this thread that don't know about doing this. It's old school marketing. You don't have to believe me, go read some traffic generation articles on some resources sites. It's usually small programs that have done it and still do it, but it's effective and makes them money. Has nothing to do with Guba. Even SilentKnight has done it.

But you won't get anyone admitting it at this point since the mob "let's linch them all" mentality has set in.

nobody is denying it does happen , we are saying its alot MORE common to see full exclusive content ripped for the sole purpose of "creating content" for newsreaders to sell using a guba type "preview" interface..

But dont take my word for it , any who has internet access and microsoft can simply open their newsreader , look at the first adult group and see the majority is ripped content with watermarks either removed or non existing and no link to any programs...

I was just commenting about everyone that was about to lynch people for doing what has been a marketing technique for years. In fact, most content licenses I've ever read (and I just double checked a couple of mine), allow for it.

Ripping out all the content to post on the newgroups is theft but that's not what I was talking about. People have got themselves so worked up into a lather that they don't seem to be thinking before they post.

Some people are counting on the sales and traffic from the newgroups where they've posted their content for branding and marketing purposes.

well it goes a bit deeper than that.. ill use a theoretical interface called TUBA.. TUBA encourages users to buy its service to find images and videos etc. It also "entices" owners of content to post their content ( and get some sales ) thus increasing the value of a "tuba" membership.. this serves a purpose to dilute the stolen content with legit content posted by owners. those same site owners who think they will pick up some easy sales dont realise that rheir sites will then be copied and posted at a cheaper price by "tuba" thats why you dont see any "big" sponsors posting exclusive content

perfect example i just logged onto newsgroups and looked under alt.binaries.erotic and find someone posting tons of content ( watermarked ) from solodebut.com , the person is not an affiliate they are obviously either #1 a thief or #2 the site owner , i would say its prob #2 and he is looking for some free signups.. well nobody is going to signup to the site if they already have GUBA or something like it right . because they are already paying for a service and get plenty of content so they are counting on people using their own internal newsgroup reader seeing the post and the pic manually typing in the url and signing up.. and theres one final link on every message...

I understand what you're saying. but those that submit their content to the newgroups already know that a high percentage of those are never going to buy anyway. It's no different than that sponsor giving the TGP owners FHGs etc., it's even worse there because the surfer isn't even paying for the access, it's all free. Yet they all continue to supply the content and use that marketing technique because some percentage will actually whip out their credit card, just as some from the newgroups will. I suspect that the conversion rate on the newsgroup traffic is a hell of a lot better than the FHG traffic though.

As for the guy that puts that link in there.. Well I guess I don't see that as much different than all the TGP owners skimming traffic away from the galleries to other sites etc. or charging for advertising on the site. They're using the sponsors content to make them money and the sponsor is only getting a very small share of it. Which sponsor is it that won't let you skim traffic away from their FHGs? There's 1 right?

I would say that the big programs don't seed newsgroups with images because it's a much smaller source of traffic than getting your FHGs onto the big TGP sites etc. Not because they don't want their content there, it's just not worth the hassle for them.

What exactly are we discussing here.. Whether programs should use the newsgroups as a source of traffic?

what people are failing to realize and this is a conversation that i had with a very large program that contacted me about how it all works, is this: jsut because they remove the TM name, doesn't mean that all your shit is out of their crappy system.

for example: lets use topbucks. Her First Big Cock. just because that gets removed or added to a filter, big whoop. if you go to the search feature and search for "big cock fucking blonde" you will still potentially find content from herfirstbigcock.com. just because they twinkle dance around the fact that "we will remove all your content", horse shit!. they will filter the names and who knows, i bet they are renaming the files to keywords that i know people are searching for. i've got a pass to their members area, they don't know what it is. i've been in there quite a bit lately doing research and i can tell you that many MAJOR programs are being assraped and they don't even know it.

if someone told you your shit has been taken out, tell me, and i guartantee you i will find some of your content in their system.

im tired of hearing this, "the programs are submitting their content" you're full of shit!

How is it "legal" to sell access to content you don't own and pay scummy webmasters for promoting such a service?

Anyone who thinks it's legal has never had their exclusive content put on Guba. Oh wait, all you people who think it's legal, give all of us the URL to your websites and a password to the members' areas. Let us take the content, upload it to our own websites, recode the videos to iPod format, resize the images, and then open a new paysite with YOUR content, then open an affiliate program to pay scum sucking webmasters three bucks for each sale.

Hey, it's not "illegal" in your eyes if someone else does it, right?

And even if Guba removes the content from their service all of that shit will still be on the newsgroups. So who really gives a shit? When I've asked Guba to remove content they did so immediately and politely. I was very pleased with their reaction and have no problems with their service.

I wonder if the fact that no major pay site owners are posting in this thread or any other I've ever seen about GUBA along with the fact that GFY accepts their advertising tells any of you anything? hmmmmmmmmmm.....

going through the proper channels and dedicating the time you can have your shit removed from usenet as well.

that argument doesn't cut it around here.
