Ripping out all the content to post on the newgroups is theft but that's not what I was talking about. People have got themselves so worked up into a lather that they don't seem to be thinking before they post.
Some people are counting on the sales and traffic from the newgroups where they've posted their content for branding and marketing purposes.

well it goes a bit deeper than that.. ill use a theoretical interface called TUBA.. TUBA encourages users to buy its service to find images and videos etc. It also "entices" owners of content to post their content ( and get some sales ) thus increasing the value of a "tuba" membership.. this serves a purpose to dilute the stolen content with legit content posted by owners. those same site owners who think they will pick up some easy sales dont realise that rheir sites will then be copied and posted at a cheaper price by "tuba" thats why you dont see any "big" sponsors posting exclusive content
