Let's say you sign up for a new dedicated server

and they bill you right away (i mean right away) for all of September (from Sept 6th and on), and all of October.

after the intial signup you hear not a word from them again (support, sales nothing) until September 14th. this is after you've emailed many times, and after another hosting company has stepped up and decided to host your shit for free since we'd been sitting there with our asses to the wind for days. and set it all up in hours.

that kick ass company would be http://www.phatservers.net btw.

So basically, you've paid for almost 2 months of dedicated hosting on a very nice server the second you've signed up, yet have not sent a click it's way, never heard a thing from support or sales in over a week since signing up... we couldn't even login to their control panel lol.

YET, were set up by someone else within 6 hours.

and the funny thing is, i only asked for two things from said hosting company - this is after waiting around with no responses, and having someone else come in and set shit up:

(1) confirmation that my account is now cancelled
(2) some sort of partial refund (at the very least, october charges.). pay for over 7 weeks of hosting, use none, and pay anyway? lol.

apparently my account is still not closed (i will be rebilled in November at this point), and i will not get any sort of refund.

i've never once brought any kind of personal business-related bullshit to the boards in all my years here, but on principle this pisses me off far too much to remain silent.

Thanks for making it clear, from the looks of your original post, I got the impression that phatservers was the one pulling your chain. If you can, you should edit the original post to make sure that distinction is made.

Anyways, like Brisk said, chargeback is a good option. If they won't communicate back with you, email them saying you'll do a CB. If they still ignore you, they deserve the CB. Chances are they will contact you back though if you threaten to go to your CC company.

11:25am PST Monday, September 6th (Holiday) your order came in for Dedicated Server. Our website (http://www.splitinfinity.com/services/dedicated.php) states that dedicated servers will be setup within 24-48 hours, Max. When you signed up, an email was sent to you with signup confirmation, listing how much you paid, what you paid for, everything .. and also stated again, 24-48 hours you will have your info.

11:55am PST Monday, September 6th, shortly after your order -- you emailed Chris Jester directly, asking a few questions about the account you signed up for. Namely, you asked a questions about the Zend Performance Suite, Additional RAM, Backup Services, how to contact technical support, and a few other questions.

1:37pm PST Monday, September 6th, Chris Jester replied to your email answering all your questions, including providing you with the email address for our tech support ticket system, an offer to give you the additional RAM at no extra charge, and his cell phone number.

1:17pm PST Wed, September 8th, I personally completed configuration of your server, change your account status from Pending to Active, and sent you a welcome email which included all the log in information.

6:51pm PST Monday, September 13th, You sent an email which cc'd [email protected], that was addressed to Chris Jester. It was quoting 2 other emails you sent directly to him on Sep 10th, and Sep 11th (Friday and Saturday), that you had not received replies to.

The emails on the 10th and 11th of September to Chris Jester directly were not responded to immediately, because he was out of town from Friday through Sunday. We never once received any contact from you at our office, for tech support, or sales ... Nor did you ever send any emails to the tech support address that Chris Jester provided you with the first day. It wasn't until you CC'd the address that your signup confirmation was sent from ([email protected]) that we received any contact from you.

We sent you the log in information for your server, and answered all questions that you had, within the time frame we promised.

Now, without ever trying to contact us by phone to let us know you have not received any response from us, you have requested a refund, for services we provided to you... How were we supposed to know that you never received our emails? We made a promise to have the server within 48 hours, and we delivered. If we can't deliver, we will keep in contact with the customer to let them know that ..

Where were we wrong?

What I find VERY funny is that you just said publicly that you never received any emails from us or had access to the server...... As you can see below in YOUR email to US, you CC'd to [email protected], which is an address WE DO NOT USE. That address is our automated order system and the only way you would have gotten it was if you got an email from it.

I also do not respect the fact that you are trying to get your money back
only AFTER phatservers offered you a FREE server in EXCHANGE for a LINK
on the bottom of your board or something of that nature as listed in YOUR email below.

After no response...

I emailed Chris on the 7th -

"hey man, how do we go forward with this. I think doing the email him email me thing i got confused. I thought this was just a CC. What do I need to do to go forward with this?"

I emailed chris on the 8th -

"Chris, my partner Dave just emailed me saying he hadnot heard from you regarding this server set up."

At this point - supposedly charged but cannot access cpanel or anything - on the 8th

Afterwards we started to hook it up with PhatServers because of now response.

Automation in the hosting biz is useless. People need personal attention, especially during the initial set up process. Your company seems to be a joke from what I'm reading here, and from many other people that have said similiar things.

At the very least here you need to issue a FULL 100% refund to Quiet immediately, and hope this issue goes away and doesn't haunt you for years to come

why is splitfinity not trying to make sure the dis-satisfied customer is happy and only making excuses? bad business

i did not have a good time with another certain web hosting company a while back, and before anything was even resolved I had 3 months free hosting...just cause I had trouble

Read my post, he signed up on the 6th, the signup confirmation clearly states (as you can also see above, where I quoted it), the server information will be sent to you within 24-48 hours. And on the 8th, I sent him the welcome email containing all the server info.

Fletch, why not go to www.splitinfinity.com and make a phone call the old fashioned way if you say you emailed me and he emailed me with no reply?

There, you would have found a plethora of ways to contact us and resolve any
issue you might have had, which, since you are lying, you didn't have any, so you never bothered to look.

I have no problem admiting when we are in the wrong, hell, I fucked an ugly chick once, but in this case, no no no no no.
