This issue is not about us not trying to make the customer happy.
It is about a customer who signed up, got what was promised to him
and then got a FREE server offer from phatservers and decided he didnt
want the server he had with us because, of course, why pay for what
you dont need when you get it FREE for a link trade?

We always want to work with customers to make them happy.
Everyone always says, the customer is always right.... How and
when do you draw the line? We did work, they got what they ordered
and now they get it FREE somewhere else so were supposed to just
eat it?

Everyone above is saying "Follow up" as if we didn't follow up with the customer.
What you are missing is that I was chatting with Fletch the entire time about the server and his partner and etc..... there was no need to call because he had our AIM, ICQ, EMAIL, PHONE etc and was in contact with us about everything.

He should have called us and told us there was a problem. He did not.
We did not need to call them because we were in contact instant messaging wise.

This is simple to me, he got it free elsewhere so decided to run with it and try to get his money back from us after we already did the work.

He emailed us telling us he was getting it FREE and no longer needed the server......

We said ok, but denied his refund request because the order was already completed however he could cancel from there on.

I don't feel that just because he says he wants a refund he should get it.
Come on now... to the court of public opinion.... would you refund him after you did the work and he DID get the server?

He stated in this thread that he heard nothing from us at all .. Now you tell us he forwarded you this email. Then didn't contact us when there was an issue with the login info provided.

PS, I just went back and found the welcome email, the login info for WHM does infact work just fine. So I checked the server logs, you tried to log in to Cpanel with the root username/password .. however the email you received clearly stated "WHM ADMINISTRATOR URL", "WHM ADMIN USERNAME", and "WHM ADMIN PASSWORD" .. you tried to use this login info on the Cpanel url, not the WHM url .. In order to use cpanel, you need to create accounts through Cpanel's WHM first.

I am not trying to point fingers, just stating the facts. We provided all the info, working, the server was online ready to use, and you didn't let us know you were having a problem with accessing it.

Phatservers saved my ass about 18 months ago, if I had of gone to one more bad host I think I would of admitted defeat and closed shop.
They are rock solid with top-notch support I can?t recommend them highly enough.

Think your wrong i know people that have hosted at splitinfinity and if i was looking for managed hosting they would still be near the top of my list they have been around longer then most of the hosts spamming gfy and will probably still be here after most are gone.

it won't effect old accounts much - and that's how penny pincher idiots justify their actions like this. But good luck getting new clients that have read this thread - and the loss in new business there is beyond enormous - but penny pinchers don't see that.

it's the difference between short term thinking and long term thinking, and i don't see much long term thinking from what split infinity has said in this thread.

Boy, I keep repeating things over and over don't I....

I looked at the logs, Fletch tried to log in to the Cpanel URL, with the WHM username/password .. that is why it did not work.

What in the heck are you talking about? Who said anything about a cancel URL .. we were discussing that they said the login information for their server (a cpanel server) did not work .. I simply stated that they clicked the wrong url to log in with that login/password.
