Kinda Funny that only the popular stuff gets any airtime, there are quite a few awards that are given out, yet they are mentioned as mere blurbs in between commercials.

Charley patton's set called screamin and hollerin the blues got 3 awards. Charley was THE influnece on Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and countless blues artists. Yet a commercial blurb only.

Basically, Charley Patton was responsible for ALOT of the musicians that influenced the blues, that in turn inspired rock and roll, hard rock, etc into what we all listen today 3-4 generations and 80 years later, Charley is long since passed, but the spirit of the music lives on. Without the early guys like him, the music coudl be ALOT different.

Maybe less of the corporate bullshit music and more of the artists that have genuine talent that have worked their asses off to get it. It cant hurt seeing the sorry state that music is in today in what is called "popular music"

Charley patton's set called screamin and hollerin the blues got 3 awards. Charley was THE influnece on Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and countless blues artists. Yet a commercial blurb only. Basically, Charley Patton was responsible for ALOT of the musicians that influenced the blues, that in turn inspired rock and roll, hard rock, etc into what we all listen today 3-4 generations and 80 years later, Charley is long since passed, but the spirit of the music lives on. Without the early guys like him, the music coudl be ALOT different. Maybe less of the corporate bullshit music and more of the artists that have genuine talent that have worked their asses off to get it. It cant hurt seeing the sorry state that music is in today in what is called "popular music"
