Avril Lavigne used to sing country and gospel tunes in legion halls and other places in the Napanee area. It wasn't until L.A. songwriters like Clif Magness and the songwriting outfit Matrix, changed her sound from the schmaltzy country-pop to the punk-rock-skater sound that the Avril we all now know hit the market.
So if anyone truly thinks that her music is of her own doing, then you are delusional.
