While I think it's pretty fucking awesome how you set up Damian, it's not necessarily the slam dunk boo-ya you think it is.

Ancher started shooting for magazines back in 82' so is likely in his mid-fifties or older and has lived in Prague since 2000. So even if they were shot recently, it's a small sample size, feature a late teens/early 20s Czech girl, were shot by someone with life experiences similar to yours, someone whose notion of the ideal is likely very similar to yours, and given your acknowledgement that he's a better photographer than you, I think it's reasonable to assume that you've at least somewhat emulated his work over the years.

are you seriously trying to claim that because some of the pictures of a photographer are featured in penthouse and playboy every single thing they shoot meets that standard

that they are perfect every single time.

you picked a shoot that was at the low end,

now granted that low end is way better than what an average photographer could do on their best day.

But there is no comparison there are mistakes made in those particular shots that would not meet the standards of twisty's

Like with any job or career.... the worst in professionals are still better than those in amateurs or at least the best of the average joes.

Although to add... An great amateur could be a great professional if given the chance with the right tools. A tradesmen never blames his tools, but must have the right tools for the job, lighting, camera, lens etc etc.

A photographer with a 5d canon should be able to make a photo look twice as good as taking the same photo with a 350d. Yes, the angles of the photo, the lighting & everything else comes into account, but depending on finances, this alters the appearance of the photo

Paul works with amateur & professional, & shows this in his content. He manages to reach both levels

Funny you mention because after doing the Top 10 galleries post last year and realizing that Tammy shot the Emily Addison shower set, and having only recently become familiar with VIP Area, I went back and looked at dozen of Twistys galleries to see if I could figure out which ones were hers. The thing I admire most about Twistys is it's ability to simultaneously appeal to both a 'highbrow snob' type target and a 'mass adult consumer target' without alienating either. A delicate balancing act that's extremely difficult to pull off. Hopefully they'll be able to keep it up.

We had 5 updates everyday. Our goal was to showcase the most beautiful models from around the world by a variety of photographers. We Had a very diverse member base. Some loved Dean some didn't some love hicks some didn't our goal was to have a site that had enough variety and enough quality to keep them happy.
