Back in the day shooter were employed by editors with limited cultural outlooks to take the same picture again and again, bland flat lighting and just change the girl.
After all they wanted to make money, not fuck around with art and photography.
Now, of course, all this led to rules, nothing to do with photography but to do with the foibles of mag production.
But this was a long time ago, and photography is a lot easier and better quality on line.
Sadly Markham has not changed, does not read books, does not understand photography.
