People who drink lots of water for their skin

it does absolutely nothing for your skin. They've done tests where one person drank tons of water for like a month and another didn't drink a glass.. there was no difference in their skin after it was over.

You get all the water you need just from eating food.

Water is good for your Kidneys though and I think most of your Organs like your heart.

Always cite or link your sources.

"Some guy from the internet said..." doesn't cut it here (nor should it anywhere, imho).

That said, skin cells are produced at the base of the dermal layer, and are pushed up as new cells are born - eventually dying, and falling off the body. Nearly without exception, every cell you see on the surface of the human body is already a dead cell. As this process takes, generally, at least 35 days, any test run for "a month" would be inconclusive, as after "a month" you'd barely see the first skin cells that were created during the start of your study visible on the surface of the body.

Drinking a lot of water (provided you don't get silly and do it to the point of toxicity) is beneficial to the body in countless ways. It helps remove waste/toxins and deliver nutrients to every cell more efficiently. It's also used to protect the body in the generation of mucus, sweat, etc. Excess water is expelled at will, taking with it a whole bunch of garbage every time it leaves us.... so it certainly doesn't hurt. Even if passively, increased water intake should benefit the skin just as it benefits every other organ in the human body, I'd think.

I can say the same for coffee vs. water there.. It's the caffeine since it inhibits reabsorption of Na+, besides being generally diuretic.

Most Americans are chronically under-hydrated and they should drink lots more water than they usually do. It is beneficial to the body in a myriad of ways.

bullshit, the test was on just 2 people exactly the same?!?!?!?

this thread has little value in the correlation of quality of skin to quantity of water consumed

Whats with all that "drink tons of water" bullshit i keep hearing everywhere ?

Thats stupid. You should only drink regular amount of water. Like half galon a day (2 liters) for an everage person (if you dont work out).

Lots of water can actually be bad for you, it flushes out vitamins and minerals out of the system.

Also, remember a story when a women died in a water drinking contest?

Anyway, taking vitamin supplements will do much better for your skin than dring gallons of water.

Try this, drink 4-8 pints of Distilled water a day for 6 months. Dont drink it ice cold but at room temperature ( it is accepted by the body's organs more readily if its near body temperature ) You only need supplements if you dont eat correctly i.e. 5- 10 cups of vegetables a day and not too much fruit. You will notice that you take a dump more frequently possibly 3 times a day and that is helping to eliminate toxins. Forget Fad diets they are not sustainable an example is the Atkins diet ( he died more than 100LB over weight )

After 6 months you will have lost weight and feel much, much healthier and your skin will feel as soft as a baby's, if that's what you want ?

People who drink lots of water have less toxins in their body, and that usually means less breakouts. that makes for nicer skin.

On top of the other benefits posted here about feeling better and losing weight - the water does help in any part of the body - even skin - as posted above with the regeneration of cells - and removing the NaOH, H2o2 and other "free radicals" which are the base cause of skin cancer. If you can get to a tanning bed a few times a week it works eveen better as it gives the body the Vitamin D that is so lacking in most American diets - which leads to the huge amount of breaking bones in older women, cancers etc - just the reverse of course of what the FDA wants you to believe since they used some old 1950s tanning bulbs that teen girls used to sleep under to come up with their fake skin cancer numbers - but thats a different story.

If you drank water every time Americans drink sodas - the health of the US would increase 10 fold - now if we could get them to stop thinking they have to drink bottled water since they leave out all the minerals that are good for your immune system - turning the current generation into the unhealthiest people in history - that would be a a breakthru

actually if you are drinking lots of water in a weight loss regime you should be drinking it as cold as possible (ice cold) for maximum weight loss.

it's simple physics.

this is because it will absorb body heat, forcing your metabolism to keep your system at 98.6 degrees and using calories to do it.

Depend on size of cup eh? I personally love to drink either out of a mason jar or my large insulated mug. One is 32 ounces and the other is 54 ounces.

Oh I also do not think there is really any given minimum amount. Just stay hydrated and do not wait to be thirty before you drink.

Personally I am really kicking back on juices and or juice infused selzter water. I am hammering a lot of anti oxidant laced juices and such.

Wha wha?

Ok

For some reason this seems like it would only really matter if your job was based on the size of your cum shot.

Seriously, why is that even a consideration for drinking more water?

Drinking water does nothing for your skn. They were debunking things like that. The other thing they debunked was the "purification" thing.. where you do nothing but drink some kind of bullshit to get rid of toxins in your body... again it did nothing..

Another myth that was researched was to see if drinking extra water will keep your skin from being dried out.

Dr. Oz showed a study that looked into the benefits of drinking half a gallon of water a day.

The researchers measured two identical twin’s skin for moisture factors. One twin was assigned to drink water and another did not get to drink water. The diets were the same.

The results were surprising in that there was no difference in hydration and skin dryness. They were the same. Neither of the girls was dehydrated. Dr. Oz said that the reason for this is that water is present in almost all foods. He said that you don’t have to force yourself to drink fluids to have healthy skin. There is a benefit however for losing weight he reminded us.

No need to read beyond post #2 in this thread. That is all the people need to know.

(because it's the truth)
