this thread makes me sad, how can you let someone jerk you around for so long. What makes you think he'll pay this time?

Because now he's being held accountable by the couple of thousand people that read this thread.

Mutt 12-24-2005 10:14 PM

Kristen stop being obtuse. What I deduce so far is that either you or XBiz has some issue with Split Infinity over money OR XBiz is just flat out embarassed that they gave a coveted XBiz Web Host of the Year award to a company that just shit all over itself on GFY.

Odie 12-25-2005 12:16 AM

ok 17 pages?? wtf where the hell have I been??

SplitInfinity 12-25-2005 03:09 AM

SplitInfinity did not do anything "wrong" here. We were damaged just as much
which is why the fighting began. (the fight is over btw)

This was never a "we didnt pay" or whatever item.

This has to do with a serious customer problem that

had to be resolved between the customer and myself.

The customer and I have come to terms.

The terms were something we needed to negotiate.

The reason we had to negotiate them is due to the unique situation
this problem was generated by.

I want to keep it clean guys, there is alot to the story that is simply no ones
business and I do not want to violate my customer privacy rules.

I would not divulge any customers information in a public forum.

Both BDJuff and myself just needed to settle it out so it was fair.
I really dont care much what this thread says because everyone who is
commenting is doing so while locked in a vaccum of one sided and missing information.

Leave it alone people.

Also, I must say, I am ashamed at the other hosts pissing in this thread.
Very unprofessional. I'll make sure to remember that. Next time drama hits you, I wont piss in your threads.... its just not right. Ill just remember that
you did it to me.

Today is Christmas Eve, I am at home with my family and will enjoy my holidays.
Everyone involved in this thread should go do the same. Pick it up on Monday or something, sheesh people.

I understand that the post BDJUff made did not look good to some eyes.
In this world there are lots of people with lots of opinions, all of which are
going to be different. So many are so quick to judge without solid facts.
I really hope those who did that to me will not be in the same position should
the same occur to them. There is no fair escape because I will not violate my
principals and post trash just to win this thread over. I will not *win*, I will
be fair. I will do business as business and keep it that way.

I could go on name-calling and etc... that gets me no where.
Fact is, I extend every courtesy to everyone, even those who post against me.
I do not hold grudges, and I'll not mind some fun at my expense....

Just go have a damn merry christmas and open some gifts already.

Goodnight.

clickclickclick 12-25-2005 12:08 PM

chris: simple quesiton: when he kept asking for his wire back, why didnt you just said straight up blah blah.. instead of saying its sent and giving him bullshit?

Whatever the deal was, fine, we dont know the situation. How you dealt when a customer asked for his money (partial or what not) was totally unprofessional.

Doctor Dre 12-25-2005 12:11 PM

Guys leave this thread alone ... Chris should make good very soon, and he was very friendly in the settlements. Let this thread die alone, juffy will bump it as soon as he receive the payment.

I think she was joking arround about the money more then other things ... it DID sound like there was soemthing wrong thought.

Sorry, by your own admission you owe the guy money so why didnt you send it, part of it or communicate and make a decison and an agreement and move on? Thats the crux of the matter....you owed! Wire sent, ducking phone calls and whatever just compounds the problem.

I am relatively new to adult but heavily involved in telemarketing and other businesses. I sent you an email re your VOIP product a week or so ago....please disregard as I am no longer interested. I am sure that wont worry you, but it would if you knew my monthly VOIP costs.

No biggee

another noob, man I feel like this board is full of surfers... moving blow is illigal and criminal, sending emails ONLY illigal in states BUT there are rules for it, refered as CAN-SPAM, so basically if you follow them IT IS LEGAL EVEN IN STATES.. if you don't follow there is NO RULES for it in entire world except usa... now let's talk about servers, you even heard of proxies ? there is no need to keep moving servers, and most servers never get a single complain unless you hit a honeypot which rarely happens (i know people who are with the same host for over a year and zero complains)... you probably refered to direct mailing which is whole different subject on it's own which i'm not ganna exmplain... my point is you simply know ZERO about this subject, and just mad that people doing good while you are not... jelousy is a mothefucker man

(i usually don't explain shit here, but this topic has alot of views :error )

xbiz awards are not cool in my book, don't see the point. :Oh crap

Companies change from diversity, the question for a good company is not how perfect they are but if they learn from the past.

anyone care to speculate on what this 'unique' situation that can't be discussed is or was? 350 spam complaints in 2 hours? holy cow.. hacked windows boxes?

Interesting, this seems to contradict your earlier statement of "yes, I did fuck bdjuf over". Its certainly your perogative to keep certain details between you and bdjuf, but so much is already out there that being vague at this point is only going to cause people to speculate. If you'd been a little more forthcoming you might have been able to save face a little rather than taking the full brunt of this thread.

I think the customers partner threatened him, I wouldn't put up with that either. I would of paid him and then closed his account within a couple days.

Funny I have been threatened twice by hosting customers. The first one is still with us because we are afraid to cancel him and he's more chill now. And the second we gave him 7 days to move refunded the difference.

Once time this guy threatened to kill me if we didn't take down a website with his wifes details on it. That was gnarly :(

just to inform about the threat.

the threat was made on the date on which we set the deadline for split to pay us, and it was no death threat or anything of that matter. It was simply "pay us in 2 weeks or we get lawyers involved".

I believe that this is the thread Splitinfinity is talking about, unless I was not present at the time my partner made this threat

uno 12-26-2005 01:03 AM

Can anyone be so kind as to go through and selectively quote only the relevant posts?

buddyjuf 12-26-2005 04:12 AM

anyways bottom line is that Chris and I are taking care of the situation and I am sure this time everything will be fine

I will keep you updated in a few days to let you guys know what happened

Merrioc 12-26-2005 06:32 AM

"350 spam complaints in 2 hours? holy cow.. hacked windows boxes?"

thats NOT alot... think of it this way... a 'default' mail server can send average 15 mails per second... which is 54,000 an hour... a tuned basic mail server sends about 50 per second (180,000/hr)... and peak at about 80 second (that doesn't even count multi domain single message delivery. etc)

even if you had a domain iwillmailyouonstuesday.com and someone signs up monday... and you mail them tuesday... 75% will still complain its 'spam'.

as for the class C thing.... if the spam traps catch more the 3-5 ip's in a broadrange of the same /32 they ban the whole /32.
OR
if the Domains pointed to said IP's have a black listed whois record information or portion there of... then the whole class C is banned...

plus last I heard split uses verio bandwith (premium stuff) and a BAD place to mail through...

RawAlex 12-26-2005 06:58 AM

Merrioc: your numbers are so far off as to be laughable.

First off, if you ran a true double opt in (opt and confirm) list, and then mailed under EXACTLY the same name with a newsletter, and mailed consistantly with that newsletter, and didn't sell your lists, didn't share the names, didn't single opt in, scrape, or add names from other unrelated lists, your spam count would be very very low (I use to mail lists from my 4free style sites, with almost never a complaint).

Second, the actual number of people who will complain TO YOUR HOST about spam is very small indeed as a ratio of mailings. My guess would be a number well under 1/10 of 1%. 350 complaints would suggest way more than 1 million mails out in that same time frame (plus maybe 1 hour for reaction... so perhaps 350k mails per hour outgoing). 75% of people don't complain (most have filters, spam cop, or feel that just hitting delete does the trick - people will only complain about truly annoying spam, and most of them are not able to easily track down the source of spam).

Sadly, some service providers do allow this type of mailing, and some bandwidth providers seem to have no problem allowing their network to be spam spewing sewers. If a couple more of them got a little more on the ball, spam would slow down very quickly indeed.

Alex
