Splitinfinity promised wires and so on ... If they would have said from day one: " We don't issue refunds for spammers", I would respect their position. They didn't .

bdjuf is in the right here - Split Infinity long before most of the adult hosting companies followed suit hosted mailers/spammers gladly. They knew exactly what bdjuf and his partner were buying and using the servers for. And they got in shit for it - that was their risk - they should give him the money owing and be done with it.

That's my problem with the whole thing. Instead of dealing with the problem up front at the beginning of the transaction by communicating with the client, they (SI) want to drag this shit out for months? It sucks that their name is getting dragged thru the mud in this thread but that is what happens when you stop communicating with a client that you owe $8K to and lie to him about sending him his refund.

It sounds like this will be resolved pretty quickly now that everything is out in the open and it's a shame that all this could have been avoided if only SI would have answered a phone call, an email or an ICQ. Or perhaps not lied about sending the wire time after time. Either way, this doesn't shed a positive light on how SI does business IMHO. :(

SI has addressed some of the issues brought up by this client but they have yet to address why they continually lied to the client about wiring him the money.

people don't understand what an email spammer can do to THEIR connectivity if a class C is blocked by these fucking spam nazis and their blacklists.

i had some boxes at hahahahahaha some years back and lost most of my traffic because some knucklehead a few IPs away from me was doing UCE and got a group of IPs blocked.

and did that hurt hahahahahaha?----well i was smaller time then, but i took a few grand a month hosting and moved to webair.

and if the same shit happens at webair i am outta there also.

the moral: hosts LOSE big time when their connectivity is blocked due to the activities of spammers....they lose their upstream(s) and they lose their best customers.

i don't know all the facts about this case, BUT IF it involves spam and IP blocking people should not be so quick to denigrate the host.

20 servers for optin mailout? A good mailserver with the proper software can push way over 10mil emails/day. 20 servers are needed only if you proxy mail non-optin lists. SI has the experience to know these things.

The complaints number (in 2-h time frame) mentioned makes me wonder though.

yeah, waiting 5 months with constant icq/phone conversation and not getting anywhere doesnt justify bringing it to the boards.
