Because of the circumstances, Brad had to ensure he covered his ass before he used the designs. He has the most to lose by using stolen work, therefore he had to protect himself by coming to an agreement with Amp, before the sites were online.

But this was a pretty bad stunt to pull on Brad.
Everything could have been easily fixed on ICQ / Phone.
This was clearly an attempt to sink his new program.

Brad is in the right. This type of thread seems like a broken record for this amp fellow who got into alot of bad deals because he dosent know how to run a business. Then to trash one of the only people with a clean rep in this biz a year later seems really uncalled for.

they're both correct.... if this were a legal thing where someone bought 'fenced' stolen goods, the buyer would get pinched, but once he gave up who his source was, if it can be proven it wasnt himself, then the guy who got pinched should get off the hook...

You mentioned that Brad should have protected himself by coming to an agreement with Amp before the sites were online. I fully agree with you.

The issue is, i believe that Brad DID feel that he protected himself over a year ago when he asked Amp about paying him. Upon Amp saying no, and that Amp would take it up with Duane himself, my guess is that Brad did in fact feel like he protected his interests. He did what he felt was the right thing..asking to pay the designers that got screwed.

Now weather Brad even asked Amp to pay him a year ago or attempted to discuss it with him, well....only them two know the truth. And wether or not Brad paid anyone else (if there was anyone else to pay) who knows.

To be honest though, i can't see Brad avoiding something like this. Even once he realized he bought stolen art work a year ago, he came and posted everything here on GFY and asked the designers to come forward so he can work it out with them. I think some said he knew before he bought them, but again, only those people will ever know.

Tough one for all parties involved, but i think it could have been easily avoided by a phone call. Both parties seem reasonable enough.
