When you told Brad that he had nothing to worry about and that Pensfan was the thief and you were going to settle the debt with him, what exactly did you mean?

The money was supposed to go like this:

Brad > Pensfan > Amp

So. Brad pays for the designs, at the time not knowing they were actually stolen. Pens decides not to pay you. He rips off you and Brad. Now, because you're an idiot, and you're incapable of getting the money out of Pensfan, you decide to go after Brad.

End result?

Brad > Amp
       > Pens

Brad ends up paying over twice as much for designs as he originally intended. You get what you're entitled to, and oh.. the real crook makes off with 6 grand and all he got was a verbal licking. Whoop-dee-fucking-doo. Call a collection agency you asshat, and actually go after the person who owes you money.

Funny you should mention that. When Brad bought them, he was unaware they were stolen. However, didn't Amp already know all about how much of a shadey prick Pensfan was? Wasn't he involved in the whole Hungryman thing? Amp knew about that for a hell of a long time, yet he still did business with pensfan?

I'm not sure why this would be considered any different from someone coming to the board with a picture set they found somewhere, and asking around who owns it. Then if they didn't get a response, just using it in their galleries.

If the original photographer found the pic set being used inappropriately, he would take a course of action to have it removed or for the infringing user to pay copyright royalties. But he can't do that until the set is used commercially obviously.

Seems like common sense that if someone inquiring about the ownership of a particular item never discovers the source, they simply don't use it. The same goes for a design. If you don't have the artist's permission to use it, you just don't use it.

All the commotion about how this particular situation was handled seems secondary to the fact that something was put into commercial use that shouldn't have been.

Anyway, good luck to both parties at coming to a final resolution that satisfies both of you.

From what I understand you knew he bought the deisgns, and offered the the designers money for the designs. But you didn't care because at that point he wasn't using the designs at that point.
But then he puts the designs online and first thing you do is bitch that you didn't receive payment for some designs you knew he had bought and you knew he had offered money for them to the designers that didn't receive their payment?
I don't understand why you didn't contact him telling him that now that he use them you would like payment for them since they still belong to you.
You apparently know him very well and have done business with him before so make no sence to me the way this issue has been handled.
