Jeffery Sklan, handles all of Cloud9contents contracts and business filings.

Herein lies the problem with this whole mess.

If THAT is the fact, then we're fully compliant - because we have the records here as well.

If it's as simple as changing the business location on our compliance claim, then tell me that's the case - and as a concerned webmaster, please show me where and it's done!

:winkwink:

You got it J. It IS that simple.

Brujah and Lady Mischief: We did set up a non-profit corporation and are fixing to do a fundraiser at the show in Florida.

Right now we have I think 14 big content providers and sponsor programs in the defense group. We get more each time a company realizes that this is for real and problem that is not going to go away.

I will get a detailed notice together for a complete update but give it a few days since i will have to run it by the attorneys. I will be sure to post it on GFY though.

Aaron, in all seriousness.. if I was wrong about your intentions for this list.. I apologize.

I didn't agree with the methods and the insinuations it seemed to make about some content providers I have known and others I've done major deals with in the past. I feel the same way about APIC. I don't agree with his methods, but maybe his intentions are in the right place.

Thanks to YOU, dude! :)

The last thing I want to do is NOT be in compliance

...and the fact of the matter, is that I've had 5 additional inquiries regarding our 95% INVENTORY BLOWOUT because of these posts in the last hour or so.

So, it's ALL good for business

The following is a list of content providers who's sites have been reviewed for 2257 Compliance information.

If the Content Provider listed is compliant with U.S. Law then I have also linked their listing to their respective sites. Since the majority of this list was retrieved from adult-contentprovider.com, I have left their referral codes in place where applicable.

If I have overlooked your 2257 info then please feel free to contact me and show me where I can verify it so that I may make corrections as necessary.

With the recent additions to the laws surrounding 2257, it is now more important than ever to make sure that we are all protected. If you are purchasing content licenses from a provider who is not even covering his own ass then how can you expect that he will cover yours if and when the time comes?

Please keep in mind that not all of these companies are located in the U.S. so they may not be required by their own laws to keep the same records as U.S. companies. However, just because their laws do not have the same requirements for them does not mean that the U.S. laws so not require it from you.

Here is a link to this info. If any valid mistakes are reported to me then I will update this page as needed.

One final note. This listing is probably going to piss off a lot of people since several of these providers post to this and other webmaster boards. Before you go and flick me shit...Keep in mind that you are the one responsible for your own company, not me. If you do not have an attorney then I suggest you retain one and get your shit in order. Talk to J.D. from xxxlaw.net before it is too late.

:thumbsup :thumbsup 4 Aaron...

Alwayz lookin out for hiz fellow webmasterz.

Keep up all the good work bud.

BTW: Enjoy that new system... :arcadefre

ok .... at the risk of looking dumb... I didn't think we needed to have that up on our site since we're a story site. If I am wrong someone hit me on the head and I'll up it. Hell I'll up it anyways...

but in the mean time.... if story content sites aren't legally required to be compliant, please remove wetwords dot com from the list :)

Sorry about that. I did not check the sites for the type of content being offered, only for the 2257 info. You have been removed.

Subject: 2257 list

http://ampcontent.com/ContentProviders.htm

Hi ? We would like to be added to the above page. www.egophotography.com has been around about a year, but the site was being overhauled when the list was compiled. We are a Canadian company, and while not subject to 2257, we appreciate our customer?s need to be compliant with the laws of their country. Our custodian of records is linked from the main page of the site.

If you require any further info, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks

Emma?

SCORE Ralph 04-28-2003 12:20 PM

Interesting thread. Lots of input here. Again, thx Aaron, youve done a good job with this list. At the Score Group we continously buy content out there and we make it our job to make sure the content providers are fully complaint, before we get our hands on it... you just made our job a bit easier. my :2 cents: s

Hey J....The attorney is listed as the custodian of records. According to 2257, that is not legal. Let me know when the proper custodian of records is in place and I will happily update the listing.

Aaron, let's say your content is owned by your business. If I read correctly (and not being an attorney, I'm probably wrong!) below ... why can't I hire an attorney as an employee and make them custodian of records, and keep the records in their office?

"(2) If the person to whom subsection (a) of this section applies is an organization the statement required by this subsection shall include the name, title, and business address of the individual employed by such organization responsible for maintaining the records required by this section. "

I ask this because one of the major content providers has in their 2257 statement their business name as custodian of records. I've since requested a name but haven't received it yet. If this is not in compliance with the law, I'd love them to be added to your list so they CAN comply quickly or risk losing customers.

But as I'm not primary producer, could I then -- theoretically -- hire that attorney?

Actually - the law is not that black and white. If it was, there wouldn't be this much controversy over it. Actually, from the posts I read of yours - our attorney does not feel that you are in compliance either....or at least the advice your attorney gave.

The question to me is NOT whether a provider has adequate 2257 information listed on their website. The reason for that is our attorney does NOT believe that listing the primary producer on your 2257 statement is going to cover your ass or make you 2257 compliant.

Our attorney has advised us that we must maintain adequate age verification documents from any content that we license. He is an adult site lawyer and has a lot of experience in the gay market specifically.

So, we are now in the process of contacting all of our content brokers and getting these records and updating our own 2257 compliance statement. Amazingly, it hasn't been a problem so far to get these documents....just a little time consuming.

So again, my :2 cents: is that it doesn't really matter to me when purchasing content if my supplier has a po box address listed or a physical address. Just give me the age verification documents. That is now a deal breaker...if you can't give me the documents, we can't do business. To me, that is what aaron's list should be guaging. It's not a matter of whether or not the content supplier's site is 2257 compliant, but whether your site is!
