But I will say what Lensman did with this board is true genius. However all these years later it is more of a curse to those of us still here for actual business. I come here daily and learn new things all the time.

This is one of the things that always makes me laugh about people who do not bother to read the trades, or go to any of the conferences, and talk like they have the pulse of this industry and the companies within it.

You are really out of touch with many of the things going on with the bigger companies. While you are worrying about tubes every day in the latest Paul Markham dead horse thread, arguing about politics, and the color of Obsama's skid marks after being shot. Real business is getting done. A lot of it never even gets mentioned on the forums.

The boards in general are way behind what is actually going on, and most of the topics focus all of their time and energy on is not even on the radar of those paying for ad space in XBIZ. If you rely on GFY to keep up with all of the changes, and innovations going on within this industry, you are clueless.

I doubt the pontificating of Will76 and Paul Markham on GFY about tube sites, industry conspiracies, and their thoughts on life, are keeping Larry Flynt or Steve Hirsch up at night. At best, the small fries and piss ants will be out of this industry, leaving it to the conglomerates who actually have money. Brazzer's is a prime example of a company not hurting for business as easy shown by their different big dollar acquisitions.

Anyway, I will leave you to it Markham Jr.. Like many threads, you've made up your mind and will fight endlessly about it with long Gettysburg address opinions. Enjoy.

I have been EXTREMLEY impressed by how xbiz has Created an industry magazine, then created 2 VERY successful trade shows. Then created the BEST INTERENT related AWARdS show EVER. This last years show was truly Hollywood style. I WAS VERY proud to be at involved in the show and really felt like the Adult INTERENT side of the business had be recognized. I see all the numbers and people say that the adult internet side is dying. But I can tell you for a fact that CCbill will do more processing this year than any year EVER. I don?t know numbers but I would guess that XBIZ will do the Same. So before you decide to count Alex and Moe out it would think twice MY TWO CENTS

No surprise, they are really good at what they do.

Winning an Xbiz award is very good for business. Our sales went up over 200% since we won ours. Customers even told us that they choose us over our competitors because of the Xbiz award.

There's even a little something more. If you know that you have a chance of being nominated or winning, it gives you a little personal kick in the butt to try harder in your business and to make your product as good as it can be. An award is a nice target to reach for.

I can concur what Mark is saying that winning(and even being nominated for a) xbiz award increases your exposure, and leads directly to new sales. While i can't comment on xbiz's financial position, as i am not in the know, i can attest to our successful campaign for AdultCentro in participating in Xbiz advertising, and shows.

As Ron said, Xbiz was created on a blank slate, when Alec had no prior experience of publishing (i know of) and when Xbiz came out i really thought they were crazy trying to compete with AVN, who was #1 by all standards at the time, but i think they have successfully carved a piece of market for themselves. I subscribe and read all xbiz news, because i want to stay on top of what's going on in the industry, and the news that come out of the Xbiz seem to be more up to date then they are from AVN (as far as online is concerned) at the moment.

I think having more then 1 Trade magazine/powerhouse is healthy, and is positive for the industry, because it leads to innovation.. we all know what happens when there is a monopoly, as it was defacto with avn/internext, and we saw where that ended up.. they became lazy and stagnant and were in the gutter until Theo and Panos came in to shake things up.

So time will tell what will happen with Xbiz, but i think if they were to go out of biz, it would only hurt our industry as a whole, so i won't be rooting for that.

Many of the companies buying ad space in XBIZ are not even represented on forums or GFY. You seem to suffer from the belief you think that GFY represents the adult industry as a whole. It doesn't. There are literally hundreds of companies that advertise in their trade you never would know about if your rely on GFY for your information. Many never post here.

This is one of the things that always makes me laugh about people who do not bother to read the trades, or go to any of the conferences, and talk like they have the pulse of this industry and the companies within it.

You are really out of touch with many of the things going on with the bigger companies. While you are worrying about tubes every day in the latest Paul Markham dead horse thread, arguing about politics, and the color of Obsama's skid marks after being shot. Real business is getting done. A lot of it never even gets mentioned on the forums.

The boards in general are way behind what is actually going on, and most of the topics focus all of their time and energy on is not even on the radar of those paying for ad space in XBIZ. If you rely on GFY to keep up with all of the changes, and innovations going on within this industry, you are clueless.

I doubt the pontificating of Will76 and Paul Markham on GFY about tube sites, industry conspiracies, and their thoughts on life, are keeping Larry Flynt or Steve Hirsch up at night. At best, the small fries and piss ants will be out of this industry, leaving it to the conglomerates who actually have money. Brazzer's is a prime example of a company not hurting for business as easy shown by their different big dollar acquisitions.

Anyway, I will leave you to it Markham Jr.. Like many threads, you've made up your mind and will fight endlessly about it with long Gettysburg address opinions. Enjoy.

You're right, you can post on every forum and hit most of the conventions and read the trades and still not have a full grasp of what's going on. I have a client that doesn't post anywhere and you have probably never heard of him, yet your jaw would hit the floor if you knew how much traffic he moves every day.

What people read on the forums is just a snapshot of whats going on, reading the hardcopy of xbiz every month will educate you a lot more.. Did I mention I'm on the cover of XbizWorld for April? LMAO

WTF that matters or has to do with anything I don't know. But like I said, and you said too, they rely ON the adult industry for viewers and advertisers. With out viewers there is no value for the advertisers. And with no viewers and no advertisers (adult is a ghost town) then how in the fuck they going to stay in business much less be one of the last viable companies??? And t hat is the way things are heading right now. If your business model relies on ad dollars from adult companies you in a world of hurt as so many companies are either going out of business or cutting back on expenses.

He wont, he will probably come back with something lame like " but did you get a hard copy of the mag". Maybe we need the hardcopy of the mag and a special decoder pen to stay on the same level of these guys in the "in".

But seriously, apparently the people who think that bullshit do so because they think Xbiz is "cool" or something. Obviously none of them can give an intelligent reason to explain WHY they think they will still be IN business when everyone else in adult goes OUT of business.

While i can't comment on xbiz's financial position, as i am not in the know, i can attest to our successful campaign for AdultCentro in participating in Xbiz advertising, and shows. As Ron said, Xbiz was created on a blank slate, when Alec had no prior experience of publishing (i know of) and when Xbiz came out i really thought they were crazy trying to compete with AVN, who was #1 by all standards at the time, but i think they have successfully carved a piece of market for themselves. I subscribe and read all xbiz news, because i want to stay on top of what's going on in the industry, and the news that come out of the Xbiz seem to be more up to date then they are from AVN (as far as online is concerned) at the moment. I think having more then 1 Trade magazine/powerhouse is healthy, and is positive for the industry, because it leads to innovation.. we all know what happens when there is a monopoly, as it was defacto with avn/internext, and we saw where that ended up.. they became lazy and stagnant and were in the gutter until Theo and Panos came in to shake things up.
