Yeah well about "what do you do" it's just about the worst cliche I can think of and of course I hate it.

I've basically two solutions to answer - an extremely boring job like "I work in insurance" - works like a charm and the person will most likely never ever look at you again, or an exciting job like "I am licensing TV programs for a well known international company" as the opposite.

But I am not going to uncover the adult part to anyone who doesn't know me very well, which is not too many people. The general perception of porn is basically the flesh part which is something too visual to get over.

Things went so far that I am about to print me a custom "mainstream" visit cards with the mainstream company and my contact details on it so I can look more credible in the "real" world, as far as I can put together mainstream web presentatioins too it might be even worth a dime.

I agree with pr0, the catch and release system works wonders. Just make sure he knows:

1) Don't kiss and tell
2) No matter what, it has NOTHING to do with biz
3) The BFE is a requirement
4) No jealousy, weirdness, or stalking allowed.

Another thing I've noticed, while traveling a lot I obviously do use a cab a lot..

Many times I told the guys that there's a big porn convention in the town and that I am in the biz and not exactly the one in front of the camera...

If I date someone outside of the industry; I always say I work in Internet Marketing before I reveal any other details. If they make it past 2 dates, then I will reveal more than that. The first meeting and couple of dates should be about getting to know someone. Granted, I care that you have a job and that you like your job and that you are a driven person... but I don't really need details outside of that right up front. I have dated people I work with and that definitely makes it easier to be able to talk about the industry, but at the same time attending conventions with jealous boyfriends is no fun. For some reason, the people I've dated outside of the industry seem to find my work talk terribly boring. Then again, I don't get to be on porn sets either.

Now as far as your need for a successful, strong, and encouraging partner who enjoys anal and tushy massages and long walks on the beach... I totally fit the bill.

I will divulge what I do if I really feel that connection with someone. Since I'm pretty picky on who I want to get emotionally invested with, it doesn't come out quite often.

I have found it worse to wait. The times I waited, the girl left. Something about waiting makes it seem as though you were hiding something. It makes it feel climactic. I introduce it immediately, but loosely.

I actually have some great ways of introducing it.

You don't really work in porn, you just run sites. I don't work in porn either, promoting affiliate programs behind the computer isn't really "working in porn" such as dealing with production and content. I have never been on a porn set in my life or even met a pornstar. I consider myself working in advertising/marketing. I never tell people I meet right away that "I work in porn".

I just direct the flow of traffic.

If they make it past 2 dates, then I will reveal more than that. The first meeting and couple of dates should be about getting to know someone. Granted, I care that you have a job and that you like your job and that you are a driven person... but I don't really need details outside of that right up front. I have dated people I work with and that definitely makes it easier to be able to talk about the industry, but at the same time attending conventions with jealous boyfriends is no fun. For some reason, the people I've dated outside of the industry seem to find my work talk terribly boring. Then again, I don't get to be on porn sets either. Now as far as your need for a successful, strong, and encouraging partner who enjoys anal and tushy massages and long walks on the beach... I totally fit the bill.
