    First time house buyer - need tips

    Folks I am looking to make a house purchase in the next while. What sorts of things should I look for / not look for in the house and the deal? What can I expect in terms of extra costs and hidden fees? How about mortgages....

    Anything you can offer is appreciated.

          The first time buyer programs can be great so for sure ask the lender about that. Usually going with your bank is the best, as having accounts with them already will help you in the process. But some times you get a lower rate with a regular lender.

          Do your homework, and Google is your friend.

                          Check out the neighborhood first and check to see what the homes in that area sold for in the last year. Will tell you if your paying to much for the home.
