He wasnt independent he was from the local Tv news station. The cop shouldn't of attacked him there was no reason.

There is an oath you take to uphold the law. When a cop impedes our our rights with abuse of their power then I have a HUGE problem. The question is who will protect you when one of these untrained monkeys decides he doesnt like the way you look?

The cop obviously has some "power" issues. Its pretty simple for the cop to do his job. " hey you have to move , we are doing an investigation" , if the answer is anything but "ok" then you tell him what he is being arrested for and you arrest him. pretty simple for most humans to understand.

I would say the scene was secured seeing as the lead officer and the bone head had a casual conversation and then the lead got into his cruiser and exited the area. It was over and the cop was just a juiced up asshole.

Not true. Cops are celebrated everywhere by the majority. They get awards, medals, and accomodations for good work. There are bad apples in every line of work and cops shouldnt get away with illegal actions just because they wear a badge or some people call them assholes.

The cops didnt want to be filmed , most people dont like being filmed, the one cop prob said , " hey go tell that reporter to stop filming " because cops are used to people that roll over. the cop ambles over expecting the reporter to stick his tail between his legs and run away , he didnt , cop got offended got all pissy , THEY BOTH could have been polite, THEY BOTH acted immature because they both wanted to prove a point.

A proper cop would have come over and said " you have to move because we are doing an investigation and there could be a shooter in the area, if you do not move i have to arrest you to make our job easier" , plain and simple , takes 2 seconds and there is no possible answer to give but yes or no. and no reason to argue until later.

lol... Paparrazis? First, Police are not celebrities.. Second, if you think a cop isnt doing his job properly, is abusing his power or is violent.. i certainly hope someone will film him... BUt in this case, if you watch the video again, youd realize that this is not an independent photographer.. but the camera man of a TV news station filming a crime scene...

Btw, next time someone annoys you, hit the shit out of him... and tell the judge he deserved it..

i do agree if the cameraman was a dickhead and being arrogant or snyde, that the officer could make him ship out... but lay a hand other than cuffs on him, no...

the cameraman was from a news station and he was ALSO there doing his job.

to me, if you analyze the footage that is there (who knows what happened before, does sound like the cameraman was getting lippy, but nothing extreme) it looks like the cop reacted on embarrassment and not adrenaline... notice how he dosnt know what to do at first... he comes at the cameraman, and as soon as the guy starts asking for the officers name and badge number he almost runs away, then gets the idea to make it all stop... there is his mistake... he then comes back to the camera guy, circles around as he notices hes getting filmed... why?? to hide himself .... why does a cop need to hide himself? maybe because hes about to attack that guy? he was trying to get off camera before ATTACKING him... he probably had it in his mind that if he did it off camera that it couldnt be proved in court that it was him... get a couple voices int here and you cant tell who...

in the end...

the cop is wrong.. should he be fired? doubt that... perhaps kicked down to parking lot duty for awhile...

A cop has no right to tell someone to stop filming something on public property. He doesn't own that street. to all "cop can beat anyone, he's fine, he's catching bad guys" - cops have real advantage in any conflict over any other person - in training, arms and (most important) in public credit.
If there is an argue, cop as a witness will have much higher authority than any other person.

That is right and should be that way, but this implies one VERY important thing - every society must not tolerate any cop, who is not able to deal with his temper, any cop abusing his power, any cop going over the legal limits - as this cop definitelly did.

Because in every society, any cop must respect simple rights of free speach (except cases, when publicity can harm investigation) - generally, there was nothing wrong taping the situation, in 99% of cases, any cop will raise no objective against taping, because he has NO reason IF he goes by the rules.

This cop behaved like an agressive asshole, and agressive assholes should fight in ring and not in streets.

Posts: 24,386	cops... dont get to use emotion within their job... thats the point of being a cop and having a badge. i do agree if the cameraman was a dickhead and being arrogant or snyde, that the officer could make him ship out... but lay a hand other than cuffs on him, no... the cameraman was from a news station and he was ALSO there doing his job. to me, if you analyze the footage that is there (who knows what happened before, does sound like the cameraman was getting lippy, but nothing extreme) it looks like the cop reacted on embarrassment and not adrenaline... notice how he dosnt know what to do at first... he comes at the cameraman, and as soon as the guy starts asking for the officers name and badge number he almost runs away, then gets the idea to make it all stop... there is his mistake... he then comes back to the camera guy, circles around as he notices hes getting filmed... why?? to hide himself .... why does a cop need to hide himself? maybe because hes about to attack that guy? he was trying to get off camera before ATTACKING him... he probably had it in his mind that if he did it off camera that it couldnt be proved in court that it was him... get a couple voices int here and you cant tell who... in the end... the cop is wrong.. should he be fired? doubt that... perhaps kicked down to parking lot duty for awhile... __________________ Deej's Designs n' What Not Hit me up for Design, CSS & Photo Retouching Icq#30096880

If there is an argue, cop as a witness will have much higher authority than any other person. That is right and should be that way, but this implies one VERY important thing - every society must not tolerate any cop, who is not able to deal with his temper, any cop abusing his power, any cop going over the legal limits - as this cop definitelly did. Because in every society, any cop must respect simple rights of free speach (except cases, when publicity can harm investigation) - generally, there was nothing wrong taping the situation, in 99% of cases, any cop will raise no objective against taping, because he has NO reason IF he goes by the rules.
