Paul and McCain look like they tied for second each with 12%. Romney got 55%.

Romney is tall, handsome, and very polished --the Massachusetts connection isn't his only resemblance to JFK.

Well, If you believe the polls (and they aren't always 100% but are often close) both Hillary and Obama wipe the floor with Mit. Here is the site http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epo.../national.html

It looks like the country might be more ready to for a black guy or a woman than people want to think.

The reality is that many people who won't vote for Obama simply because he is black live in backwoods conservative states that he wouldn't win anyway. Since we have the electoral college and not a popular vote for president it doesn't matter if everyone in some of these states vote against him, he likely wouldn't be winning those states anyway and it doesn't matter how bad you lose them by.

Mitt first with his Mormons voters. Paul second with the clear thinkers. Funny because Paul picked up more delegates then those fighting for second in SC.

Not too smart of those fighting in SC. But we do not want a president that thinks do we?

Kerry had big leads early in 2004 too.

Do the math. The Democrats NEED some of those red states. They can't take the attitude " Fuck those rednecks we don't need them. " 2000 and 2004 prove otherwise. If Al Gore could have won his home state of Tennessee he'd would have been president. In fact any red state with more than 3 electoral votes would have won it for Gore. In fact if Gore would have won NH and it's 4 electoral votes he would have won. Kerry did win NH but lost NM and Iowa 2 states Gore won.

Now say Cinton/Obama win all the states Kerry and Gore both won and also, NH, NM, and Iowa that's 264 electoral votes. So where are the 6 more electoral votes coming from if you are going to ignore the "ignorant rednecks"? And remember if it's McCain/Romney ticket NH will most likely go GOP since Kerry BARELY won it in 2004. So that's 10 electoral votes needed." Also McCain being from Arizona also gets NM. So that's now 15 electoral votes need. If the dems are counting on a strategy where they win either Ohio or Florida they are fucked be cause there is ZERO guarantee they'll win either. And there is no plan B. A Edwards/Richardson ticket is a GUARANTEED winner and the dems are too fucking retarded to see this.

any democrat strategy has to include one of two things:They either have to take away a republican state or two or they have to win Florida or Ohio. They came within a funky confused ballot and some shady happenings of winning Florida in 2000 and nearly won Ohio in 2004 (again more shady stuff here as well so you would have to expect that again) It is a risk. What I am saying is that they are never going to win Texas or Oklahoma or Alabama or places like that so his being black doesn't matter in those states because they are lost. The states they can compete in, I feel, have less of a redneck vote and are a little more progressive so I think his being black is less of an issue. Also many of these southern states have large black populations. If they turn out and vote for obama that could be enough to win a state or two.

I don't think an Edwards/Richardson ticket is guarantee in any way. There are a lot of people (including democrats) that for some reason don't like Edwards. He has a smugness about him that turns a lot of people off and so far he hasn't even won one primary. The polls show that no candidate is a shoe in at this point. McCain (in the current polls) beats Hillary, Obama and Edwards so I wouldn't go so far as to guarantee anything. Also, if Bloomberg jumps in it could cause a lot of chaos and then who knows what would happen.

This isn't horseshoes ALMOST doesn't count. And if "shady" things did go on in 200 and 2004 what makes you think they won't go on again in those 2 states in 2008?

If plan A fails other than Ohio and Florida which red state will Clinton/Obama win?

That doesn't mean shit. To win a general election you need to win more than the 30% of the people that are a member of your party. By the way Bill Clinton came in 3rd In Iowa and 2nd in NH in 1992. How'd that work of for the "winners" of those primaries?

In 2000 McCain was CLEARLY the better GOP representative for President. Yes Bush won but we all pay for the GOPs idiocy 8 years ago. McCain would have beaten Gore easily in both the electoral vote and the popular vote and there wouldn't have been any issues with questionable goings on. because they elected Bush the GOP lost Congress in 2006. They'll keeping losing Congress in 2008 and they'll have a hard time winning the Presidency in 2008. Now if the GOP had nominated McCain in 200 none of this would have happened. Hindshight's a bitch sometimes. Seems the GOP has learned at least somewhat.

1984 Mondale, 1988 Dukakis, 2004 Kerry. Please tell me you HONESTLY believe these were the BEST choices for the dems.

I think all primaries should be open so that way the extremes in each party don't get to dictate which candidates get nominated. And ban caucuses. All states should have primaries.

okay lots of answers - first I said I think there will be shady shit happening in florida and/or ohio in 2008.

Second - I don't know what the plan is if they can't win ohio or florida. You could argue that Clinton could win Arkansas. She and bill are well liked there.

third - I would venture to guess that none of those three candidates were the best. there is always someone better out there.

Fourth - I agree with you completely. I also think they should all be held on the same day. Say April first or something like that. Every state has it's primary, no caucuses, no early primaries that let fringe candidates come out of nowhere and gain momentum.

My entire point with my posts is that I don't think Obama being black will be as big an issue as some want to think it would.
