I have seen some posts around in the past few days.
None have gone very well for them. In fact they all seem to shame them for the people that they are. The other company they are running is a youtube site... "megavideo" cough cough copied all the files with exact text wink wink "user" uploads. So I would say yeah, its the real deal. Im sure they are here looking to scrape up all those webmasters who see this as a good way to make that buck they lost when they got kicked from a real affiliate program for sending stolen video traffic to it. Way to reach for the top, the cream of the crop, the best of the best.

But at the end of the day its all about what the users want. Our popularity shows that we did something right. And you guys should consider to adopt to this new reality.

Fact is that Megarotic is not going to go away. And because of our success there are already countless clones out there and even more are being built while I am typing this.

Its not about the content. Its about the concept. We became the number one adult site because we created something the users like. We could just buy ALL of our content (and you know its not even expensive) and we wouldnt have this whole "theft" discussion, but for sure some other flaming instead. Its the pain. I understand.

Yes, the concept is fine - users upload their own content onto your site and share it with others. The reason people are angry at this is that everyone knows full well that 99% of your content is uploaded by people that dont own the content. It is pirate content, you know it and we know it.

I still cant find an example of full length movies that have been uploaded by the copyright holder. Please link to a SINGLE full length hardcore porn movie (25 minutes plus) on Megarotic that WAS uploaded b the content owner and I will shut up and leave this thread.

This should be easy for you right?

The solution for Megarotic is simple. They buy, lease or only accept content from people who own it?

How do they know the person owns it? By the email of course. In other words they do not allow people on a free mail email addy to upload content. Or the account is approved and getting it approved is simple. Prove you own the content, both one off operations by your auditors.

Megarotic do not allow coded links so the uploader is looking to get the payments for views or/and type in traffic. The only people who have the rights to upload content to them are content owners. What ever way you cut it content costs money.

So these people will have bought or produced the content. Not people on [email protected]. Buyers and producers of content can prove they own it, they will have a site and odds on a sites email address like I do. so there is your first filter to ensure you're legal and ETHICAL.

The second one is very simple, anyone submitting content marked www.paulmarkhamteens.com and not working on an @paulmarkham.com email is stealing the content. Same goes for ALL watermarked content.

Megarotic's problem is simple. Can they get enough content to run the site at a price to keep it profitable?

Well they say some videos get 1000s of views. A hardcore video can cost between $10 to $50 so we will say $30 a video. $30 at $0.01 a minute = 3000 minutes. On a 10 minute video that's 300 views. Seems an easy number to hit and begs the question why submit a video which will make less than $30 and why pay out more than $30 when you can buy it and not bother to keep paying and administer the payment?

Which leads to the answers, because you don't own the video and $30 is better than nothing. And Megarotic are not paying out as much as they say they are. Or simply can't afford to buy in.

I understand your claim about a new business model. But you have to base it on being legal and ethical. Otherwise there's nothing new about stealing something to make a profit. People have been doing that for thousands of years.

No. What I am saying is that you can produce your own content or upload content that you have licensed and make a good income if your clips are popular.

And if you would have taken the time to read my previous postings you would know that we do not encourage anyone to upload infringing content. Its against our terms of service.

Why can't you buy the content yourself? Why pay someone else who has bought it more than you would buy it by going direct?

Agreed you do not encourage anyone, but as I pointed out stopping illegal uploading would be very easy. Unless you have 20 different guys uploading content every hour.

It takes minutes to verify if someone owns the content being submitted. Once they are approved by hand they can keep uploading. There are not that many content owners who would submit to you to make it a tough job. Your problem could be getting enough content to run the site. And not paying out enough to uploaders to make buying it unprofitable.

So you see Paul, you keep talking about how "content costs too much money"...you are right, it costs money, but in comparison to their bandwith costs, it's a drop in the ocean...so my answer to all that is - it's not about the content costs - it's about the variety of content. Purchased DVD content is just DVD content and never has the quality of let's say Brazers' videos.

Those are my thoughts..i may be wrong though

They buy, lease or only accept content from people who own it? How do they know the person owns it? By the email of course. In other words they do not allow people on a free mail email addy to upload content. Or the account is approved and getting it approved is simple. Prove you own the content, both one off operations by your auditors. Megarotic do not allow coded links so the uploader is looking to get the payments for views or/and type in traffic. The only people who have the rights to upload content to them are content owners. What ever way you cut it content costs money. So these people will have bought or produced the content. Not people on [email protected]. Buyers and producers of content can prove they own it, they will have a site and odds on a sites email address like I do. so there is your first filter to ensure you're legal and ETHICAL. The second one is very simple, anyone submitting content marked www.paulmarkhamteens.com and not working on an @paulmarkham.com email is stealing the content. Same goes for ALL watermarked content. Megarotic's problem is simple. Can they get enough content to run the site at a price to keep it profitable? Well they say some videos get 1000s of views. A hardcore video can cost between $10 to $50 so we will say $30 a video. $30 at $0.01 a minute = 3000 minutes. On a 10 minute video that's 300 views. Seems an easy number to hit and begs the question why submit a video which will make less than $30 and why pay out more than $30 when you can buy it and not bother to keep paying and administer the payment? Which leads to the answers, because you don't own the video and $30 is better than nothing. And Megarotic are not paying out as much as they say they are. Or simply can't afford to buy in. I understand your claim about a new business model. But you have to base it on being legal and ethical. Otherwise there's nothing new about stealing something to make a profit.
