At the end of the day everybody wants police, prisons, garbage men, libraries, parks, armies, the FDA, and a basic educated populace (thus mandatory and universal education). How much "more" or "less" Government is required will never satisfy anybody, except for individuals that love living 100% off the system or corporations and CEOs that are completely subsidized by government tax dollars to the tune of millions, or government officials that get paid big salaries yet don't even show up for "work".
I think Brad made the point earlier that both private and/or public healthcare could probably work equally well, but it all depends upon how it's managed. |

Not really, it's that it's far from anything that can be even considered a joke. But worse than that is that it makes you look like a complete fool. |

I think it will probably take time to get data to show any major ban or lifting of ban to show any kind of good data. I dunno. It just pissed me off honestly to watch cspan as the republican senators, and some democratic ones, cried about how letting 2 gay women or men marry would destroy western civilization.
Then senators Shumer and Clinton got up and used their time with charts and graphs and shit to talk about how the automatic assault weapons ban expired that same day, and how all this gay marriage talk just distracted the public.. which I felt was basically true. And it was all because there was a huge election coming up. Politics just sucks sometimes. (ie: 100% of the time, lol) They COULD have said you can buy an AK-47, but require them to be filled with cement, lol. But nobody even cared enough to set politics aside, thats the sad thing. Since it was simply expiring, there was no need for anyone to debate why it SHOULD expire, so they didnt make a peep. |

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that it's possible to have a health care system fully funded publicly while also offering some services privately. Why do all the issues seem to gravitate to one option or another? |

You should fucking be ashamed to say that. I'm ashamed to even belong to the same fucking race as you. Get the fuck off this board! You are the scumbag piece of shit. Fuck you. |

And it all depends on what side you are on. Your friends were tortured, but what if your friends are the ones depending on you getting information in a hurry. Are you going to just wait for your prisoner to talk and let your friends die? That's all I'm saying. Youre just onesided.

You sound upset. Maybe you should think bigger than just you small view of the world.

So you feel that attacking is the answer to people having an opinion different than yours? All I'm saying is that torture has been used, during war on prisoners of war, for longer than any of us have been alive and it worked. I'm not saying I condone it or participate in it, just that it has it's place. Not everything in the world can be nice, just has to work. I'm not simple minded or a hillbilly, I'm someone who can think rationally, not just emotionally.

The only thing I differ on Moore about on this matter is the elimination of the private system altogether. I say offer universal care through the government and let the private system sort itself out for those that want to still pay and use it. |
