Even if Moore wants to abolish private insurance, I dont think any actual candidates plans include doing that.
Was pretty funny on Leno, his comment about the NBC censors, lol. oh yeah and he's overweight.. I wonder if he realises it? Poor fella ;) |

The only movie of his I've seen is "Bowling for Columbine" and it was filled with so much bullshit I've never bothered to watch another.
|
anyone who hates Michael Moore, is a piece of shit.
this thread can die now. |
Thats ok, even the assault weapons ban was allowed to expire during the pube lickin red herring debate over a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.
As a country we are so over crazy kids shooting up schools. I guess.. right virginia tech? Gun laws are fine right? Awesome. So Bowling for Columbine got people talking for a while.. but the gays..... ohhhhhh they're teh scary! Now I'm off to open a new bank account and get a free rifle!!! |
Moore's films are worth watching, for information and at least appreciating that perspective he puts forth. But anyone who sits there mindlessly eating up every point Moore tries to make without acknowledging or realizing that some of them are blatantly twisted "facts" is the embodiment of what a true sheep is.
Some of what the guy has to say has merit, only the most close-minded of the right wing camp disagree with that. But some of it is downright bias slanted agenda-having tripe. Some choose to eat it up with a spoon, others know enough to keep themselves grounded and their opinions in perspective. Now keep this thread going. The dynamic duo are dying to know what GFY'ers are going to say next... http://www.thewinnipegpages.com/foru...1162685385.jpg |
LOL great pic and good point! Never look to someone else to feed you an "opinion". Thats yours to form and if you dont feel like reading both sides of a debate, it's your own fault :P
But expecting some media outlets or Michael Moore to be balanced or fair (or that they HAVE to be or SHOULD be), is unrealistic. |
I dunno but I know if I looked like a hobo I wouldnt be commenting on what someone else looks like.

His body proportions aside, "Sicko" (a film that did meet your definition, baddog) flipped my view on health care. I used to oppose the idea of Universal Health Care.
Frankly, I didn't realize that some people had it so bad. Nor did I realize that there were "uninsurable" people in the U.S... including people that acted as American heroes in the face of disaster. We live in what's supposed to be the pinnacle of human civilization to date... and now I'm being told because Joe Blow has diabetes, he's fucked on medical costs for life? Fuck that shit. Everyone's entitled to health care. Socialize the stuff. As far as Moore goes... I lost a good deal of respect for him in "Bowling for Columbine"... especially in the way he treated Charlton Heston in the end - rather uncalled for, imho... But his most recent work is solid stuff. |

he tries to bring to light what is seriously wrong with america. admitting weaknesses is a strength, isn't it? |
Moore is fat and Coulter is anorexic. It's time to find middle weight, oops, I meant middle ground.

amazingly only one of those things is a medical fact, everything else is an opinion which requires you to fabricate evidence to prove. |

Baddog and other Republicans don't want a democracy, they want a monarchy. They need a 'daddy' in the oval office and they don't like hearing uncomfortable truths from what they consider snobby smartasses like Michael Moore. |

Why people trust private enterprise more than the government staggers me sometimes. You dont vote for the leaders of big business. The average person has no say in the affairs of the corporate world. But they have a vote. They can help change a government. No system is perfect but one of the purposes of government is to protect its citizens. Having healthcare available to all is the very basis of that, as well as equal opportunity. How can any country claim to have equal opportunity when an education and health care is not provided to ALL its citizens? In short: They can't. |
baddog is just supporting the american way. sweep the problems under the rug and blame someone else and look the other way.
what did baddog do wrong? he was taught to be this way by his whore mother and ugly fat kid. |

Re Charlton Heston, yeah that was hard to watch but you know, the NRA is a politically active organization with a great deal of influence, and Heston is the frontman and the nominative leader. If he couldn't take the heat, he should have left the kitchen 20 years ago. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slander_and_libel Try to learn at least the basic things about the things you make discussions about :-) It may not be something that would throw him to jail, but if it was false facts he based his movies on then he, the rest of his family including his neighbours would already be broke for the rest of their lifes due to the lawsuits against him |

M. Moore is getting attacked on frequent basis from the same group of ppl that believes they are more patriotic than all the rest. In reality it's nothing more than a subliminal reaction; deep inside them they do perceive he is greater American and patriot. It truly hurts them to see him getting accepted from a large percentage of the population because he represents whatever they hate or dislike and they rarely fail to use unfair or pathetic characterizations against him.
You know a significant part of the world didn?t have to watch ?Sicko? to find out that US healthcare system is not perfect. They knew it long time ago and it?s not like it?s the only one. What they just found out is that at least some people have tried and try to change it. The testimony of the woman in front of a court panel (if I?m not mistaken) that she had to deny healthcare to clients they deserved it in order to increase the company?s profits was just one of the highlights of it. If you haven?t watched it, you should, at least if you plan to express an opinion on it. |
