I use them, but don't rely on them. I also only keep a max of about $300 in the account. I have been fucked over by an offshore "bank" to the tune of $2k+ before so I am not about to make the same mistake.

Wish I would of read some of the threads on this board BEFORE I signed up for epassporte. I signed up with them on Nov 30th, funded the account and received an email saying that I was verified and the account was ready to use. This weekend I found myself short on cash so thought, hey I have a 1,000 on my epassporte account, thought I'd just send some of it to my paypal account because I have a debit card for it already. Found my damn account blocked. No warning, no email...no nothing.

They tell me that my information given during my fund loading was suspicious and there has been suspicious P2P activity. Which to me would all seem to be BS since the card I used to load the funds has my name on it, the account I used to transfer funds into is the exact same account.

I have sent in all the requested documents, which was a pain in the ass. No word back yet and here I sit with a family to feed and every bit of money I earned in the last 2 weeks is sitting there frozen... do u think they give a ratsass? Hell when I emailed them and asked what is P2P activity, all I got back was a blank email and yet another form asking for a bunch of verification. Why did it take over a month to decide I wasn't who I said I was?? Was it because I just now got enough money in their to raise their eyebrows?

I now wish I would of taken all of the money out immediately when I got paid, instead of leaving part of it in there.

Oh and my daughter and one other affiliate I signed up are having the same issues.

Customer service there sucks in my opinion.

what's wrong with checks, you deposit them in the bank very cut and dry especially if you depend on the money. If people think by using a off shore service you can get out of paying taxes your paying a fools game.

they're not FDIC insured and they're not US-based. so it's nowhere near as secure as a real bank.

I wasn't trying to get out of paying any taxes. I only decided to opt for the electronic payments because I live in a rural area where mail service isn't very reliable. Thought this epassporte thing might be more reliable. Definately will be going back to opting for checks from now on though.

I've never had any problems with epassporte and I love the service they offer. That said the 4k limit is silly.

Epassporte rocks except for two problems:

-daily withdrawal limit is $500
Makes it tough when a customer sends $1000's and you need the funds to shoot, have to wait a few days to pull out the funds, a little bit each day

-transfers to a bank acct: instantly goes from bank acct to epassporte, but transferring from epassporte to bank takes 3 days

I find the inexplicable freezing of an account with no explanation and no reply from customer services to be poor practice.

I think it is the patchiness of their service which is the issue. Some people have good experiences whilst others (like myself) have bad ones. If everyone is to be believed this randomness of good service is not something which creates confidence. Good service in the past does not guarantee good service in the future, particularly if the overall track record is poor. I'm not one to bash companies for any reason, but there seem to be a lot of people getting their accounts suspended for no good reason and after all it is OUR money (at least technically) which they are witholding from us.

sponsors who pay VIA epassporte, must keep like 100k or more in their epass
to do large payments

Do they get some extra assurance or something?

its funny so many people dont see the problem with your accounts being blocked when you have 5k in it.. Would your bank ever tell you to come in and prove your you before you can use your account or get your money back..

The whole idea is a stupid money grabbing gain..

Why wouldnt they simply verify you when you signup like any normal financial intitution. ?

I can prob answer that . if they made people verify their accounts before they signed up they would lose out on thepeople who dont have that info readily available ( i.e. they get to keep all that money )

I got my card verified pretty soon after i got it and let me tell you it wasnt easy.. took over a week , multiple faxes at my cost , runaround on support ( whoever you need is not in the office 9/10 etc etc) in the meantime my hosting was pulled because my recurring charges didnt go through because my epass card was blocked , a domain got lost because registrar could not bill the card.

Ended up costing me several hundred dollars ( at the very least )

With all that being said i STILL think epassporte is a GREAT service , but some areas they seem to need big improvements

hopefully they have changed some of the details but one of the most frustrating was getting my account verified.

They need copy of passport and a "bill" with your name /address etc

Well in this day and age many people dont get paper bills anymore. All my utilities are electronically billed, so thats not as easy as it sounds.

My wife has a card, dont know what she is going to do if it gets "verified" as she has no utility bills they are all in my name.

Lets overlook the fact that me faxing my passport and utility bill doesn't actually prove anything as epassporte has no legal way of verifying any of the details of the info.

The people behind epassporte are sound, and have been around for a long time.. they are as trustworthy as anyone else in this business.. BUT be smart, and don't leave a ton of money in your account.. that way you can't get burnt to bad should the worst happen.

I can't see any reason for epassporte to go tits up... Support can be a little slow, but in general I have no complaints.

If they WERE untrustworthy, VISA would NOT grant them the licence. So why the hell is everyone acting all crazy about them. I've had nothing but good service. Don't use it as a bank. It's not a bank. Verify your account and you shouldn't have a problem with the 5K thing.

They will mess-up with you:

1) If you are from a high risk country

2) You are new with them.

Once you establish a good relationship with them, they start trusting you.. I have had some problems with them but got resolved.

Its what I think, and has extracted from my experience with them.

I never had money lost but captured and delayed for many months.

And yes, their email support sucks -- If you contact them for a certain issue every time a new representative will reply you and you don't feel that your problem is being addressed personally.
They need an improvement over this, Every email/ticket must be assigned to separate person and only that person should deal with that ticket until it is resolved.

But I dont care about their email service mostly, Keyser rocks for me.

I think most people use epass because there is no viable alternative at the moment. I must have been unlucky because every problem I have encountered has taken an age to solve. Customer support is either non-existant or unreliable. Michael does a good job at solving problems but why is it always down to him. What are the other guys doing?

epassport registration problems

i keep getting error message when i try to make my first epassport deposit. pokerstars requires a 50 dollar deposit with epassport before they let you cash out with it (after 48 hours). since neteller stopped servicing poker sites i expect millions of online poker players formerly with neteller are now trying to sing with epassport (nice for epassport's business, also nice for pokerstar's business since these millions will all have to make 50 dollar initial deposits to pokerstars to withdraw with epassport). i have 200 i want withdrawn and im leary about using snail mail. pokerstarts says it takes 14 days (yikes). i assume thats a maximum tiime but my emails to them have not answered this question, i just get form letter responces saying i can get a check mailed (i already know that).

epassports support line has been busy 24/7. my daily emails to them have been unanswered. i copied some of the negative reviews here to pokerstars to let them know whats going on as they recomend epassport on their deposit page (they used to recomend neteller). my last email from them said the best way is now by check.

has anyone in the US on this forum gotten a check mailed from pokerstars? how long did it take? im worried about checks in mail, in my neighborhood if it got sent to wrong apartment (my unit has 22 floors) the recipient would just try to cash it.

the largest concern for me these days, aside from past issues w/ account locking and ATM problems, is their ties to the online gambling industry and the transfer of funds for such purposes... the recent arrests and drama w/ non-US companies (Netteller, ccAvenue, etc.) just make me nervous as hell to have funds sitting in there..
