Does Anyone Drink Water Exclusively?

I was wondering if anyone drinks water exclusively when they are not about boozing of course? No coffee, pop, etc!

Is this the healthiest option? If you eat ok.

Do you need juices and vegi drinks only when you diet is lacking?

Moderation is the key

A little soda here and there won't kill ya. I drink diet soda 3-4 times each week but a few regular cokes each week for lunch won't do much damage.

Fruit juice is good for you but loaded with sugar. If its pure juice, its a healthy unrefined sugar but sugar nonetheless. You can take a multi vitamin with food and get nearly the same benefits as drinking fruit juice.

Vegetable juice is very good for you. Can't say anything bad about that.

Instead of coffee, try diet rockstar

12-24 oz of lite beer, 1 glass of red wine, or 4oz of hard liquor

I drink tons of water and no coffee , no pop , no juice .
Sometimes i have a startbucks once a week but thats about it.
Water gives you nice skin and cleans your insides and is good
for your teeth .

Other than alcohol, I only drink water. I don't touch juice or soda unless I'm too lazy to get out of bed and my boyfriend has some near us. I don't know if it's the healthiest option... I just prefer the taste of water over anything else that doesn't get me drunk.

I drink between 96 and 128 ounces of water a day. I prefer distilled but regular spring or purified is ok.

In the times I don't drink water I will drink lightly sweetend drinks like Gatorade, Arizona Green Tea w/Ginsing or VitaWater.

Of course I will have a drink, or 6 of hard liquor, when I go out... but only when I go out, never at home or just relaxing somewhere.

I hate diet soda and I have about three cokes a week. So you seem to be stressing to stay away from sugars.

I got a general muti vitamin I picked up at the local pharmacy. Will that do? What about the drink V8? I know its full of salt but I figure when I dont eat enuff vegies I would eat that.

if you are trying for controlled calories and high nutrition you are much better off eating an orange than drinking a glass of tropicana. the fiber will make you feel full, the glycemic index is better for blood sugar control, and the nutrition about the same as the juice.

good advice about vegetable juice, all the varieties of V8 are good nutrition, but try to limit salt if you are over 30 due to blood pressure issues.

also tomato juice---try for 100% natural juice, no additives, no preservatives. it will taste better and be better for you.

remember the american diet is created by the profit motive and palatibility, nutrition is not the first consideration, and for good health and longevity you must educate yourself about what is good for YOUR body---and you cannot leave that control to someone else. eat for health and nutrition, not necessarily good taste. read labels, become educated about what the human body really needs for good health...and it mostly isn't at shakey's pizza, or KFC, or in the grocery aisle of baked goods.

exercise, and eat mostly unprocessed foods. feel better, live longer, make more money, and bang more beaver.

also coffee is not bad for you by itself, but all the starbucks concoctions with sugar, cream, etc. ain't so good and have loads of empty calories.

coffee by itself is good for you. the worst thing it does is stain the teeth, so use baking soda type toothpaste to counteract that.

and bang more beaver.

I drink between 88-115 ounces of water every day. Every once in a while I enjoy a diet pepsi or a diet snapple, but that's about it. I also drink a cup of green tea sweetened with honey every evening.

I try to only drink water, purified..nothing from the tap, and when I get burned out on water I usually drink AZ green tea or hansen natural which is kinda like a healthy soda you could say.

Try putting some lemon slices into your water if you get tired of drinking it so much, good change of pace.

After about 2 weeks of not drinking soda you won't crave it much at all anymore and when you ever do take a drink of it it won't taste as good, at least for me anyway.

The bonus about drinking a lot of water now a days is that so many companies make flavoured water now. I buy a lot of water, I do not buy soda and only drink it when dinning out.
I do have 1 coffee first thing in the morning every day & I drink juice.
However, I have heard that a fluid in take that consists only of water is not recommended over a long period of time due to your sodium levels.

Years ago I saw a sports show where Howie Long drank two gallons of water every day. He said it was a training practice he never gave-up.
He also stated it's hard to overindulge in anything else when you're consuming that much water.

Hey Dwreck! I don't drink soda or juice on a daily (or even weekly) basis, but I have 2 cups of coffee and green tea along with lots of water throughout the day. I'm a vitamin fiend too.

What is your goal in going water-only? Some people avoid soda for the artificial additives, etc. Others avoid juice for the calories. Personally I need the coffee to wake up in the morning, but try to even it out with green tea to scare off cancer, which scares the living hell out of me AND runs in my family - yikes.

We have this killer juicer I barely use and I feel guilty about it, such a waste

D, it sounds like you are looking to change your eating habits for the better. My advice is to try to balance your diet as much as possible without stressing over it. Go ahead and eat that slice of pizza... just don't eat a 2nd. Drink that coke, just don't drink 3. If you ate some junk food when you were feeling depressed, make sure you go out of your way to eat healthy the next day. Get a chicken salad and don't eat a bunch of carbs within 6 hours of bedtime. Try to drink a protien shake 1-2 times a day. If you don't like making them yourself.. they sell premade cans in the cooler at GNC. I suggest RTD extreme body, vanilla bean... yummy.

I heard that you can get water poisoning if you drink TOO much water. B/c of all the added (cleansing)ingredients in our drinking water. That may not count for spring water though.

I do sometimes drink water exclusively for a couple weeks or so at a time and I usually feel better for it. I drink a lotta water anyway though.
