It's actually a male not a bitch LOL. I just bought him after my trainer checked him good. I didn't ride him yet but the trainer said he will train out real good. My fat ass is easy to buck off so I thought I should wait till he gets used to me and his new stable. Got a hell of a deal, $3200. He's only 2 1/2. Very gentle and lazy, just got give the trainer a couple months to get him trained good for my kids.

The breed, the horses personality, disposition etc. What gives the most value is how well trained the horse is. Horses can sense if a rider knows what he is doing or not and will take advantage of you. IE not go where you want to go or even worse throw you off. A well trained horse will try to learn the rider and do as he wants. Hard to explain really. This horse will be worth 10k within a year if training goes well. He is very smart for his age but not too old to learn.

And if you're easy to buck off, shorten your stirrups one or two notches, and when you're sitting in the saddle, sit up straight & push your heels down. If your heels are down & toes are up, it's a LOT harder for your ass to budge anywhere.

The difficult part is keeping heels down without your toes sticking out to either side & up.

Give it a try, you'll see.

I just bought a new one also, I am importing him from Holland, He arrives at the LA airport on the 11th and I get to pick him up on the 13th. He is a FPS registered Friesian - He is a bit more expensive but was a heck of a deal for being a 3yr old Friesian, only $14,000, if I was to buy him here he would be a couple thousand more. He is not trained but I train horses also so will do it myself.

With horses there is always something you can get, so how much they cost a year is dependent on how much you want to spend a year.
you can board a horse for around 300$ a month if you dont have your own land, if you have your own place you can build your own barn, my barn cost me right at $50,000, food depends on what you feed, I have show horses so I feed them grain twice a day, bermuda hay all they want, Alfalfa hay at noon and Alfalfa pellets morning and evening, plus various vitamins and suppliments, then you have the farrier every 8 weeks at about $75 per horse, if their teeth are not done you have to have them floated at about 300$, then you have fly blankets and fly masks for the summer and the list goes on. Oh ya, cant have a horse without a horse trailer, you can get them cheap or you can buy a nice one, mine is about middle I think, its a 2 horse warm blood trailer, this means its extra tall, made for big horses, mine was about 12,500 new.
Or you can just go on the cheap like allot of the ropers in my area and just toss your horse out in a field with no shade, a bucket of water and toss some hay on the ground for them. Not very healthy for the horse, they dont stay clean, but its cheaper.

We had a retired Throughbred, and she was great. Finally had to sell her when we sold the ranch and moved to Mexico. They are a lot more expensive than people think. Just purchasing them is only the begenning.
