The most successful affiliate program going today is also the first one that offered hosted galleries. Nobody had ever heard of them before that.

That was of course one small part of the reason they were successful....but just like any other industry everyone copies the leader.

I never understood why people always referred to submitters as worthless pieces of shit, and then those same people would consider the AVS guys or the search engine guys some sort of God.

Really, what's the difference? Each of them knows how to work a certain traffic source and work it well. They each send traffic. They each generate sales.

Many "hot" sponsors today were built on and for TGP/submitter traffic.

Submitter is where people tend to start in this business.
It has the lowest startup cost and the fastest results.

From there people either learn the biz and move on to other ventures that are more profitable.....or they leave the biz.

People who make a living "just submitting" are becoming more and more rare.

What's funny is I remember when I first started in this business everyone on the newbie boards was saying "DON'T submit to TGP's....you'll just get a huge bandwidth bill and not get any sales....wait until you really know what you're doing before messing with TGP's....especially thehun"

Only way it would work is if it didn't lay over the thumbs....if someone goes to click a thumb and clicks your flash overlay ad the TGP's are gonna have a problem with that.

I apoligize for rejecting them, they are extremely nice galleries, but the banners that look like thumbs are just too much. Even if they had text on them it would work, but as it is they look like thumbs that will go to a big pic. I really did not want to reject them as I could tell they took a lot of time to design.

it's not finished, no close button, no tricky code and linking etc but they command attention like a mofo thats a taste test i guess before i add some clickier text and make them work a little better.

here's a newbie tip:
you will almost always do better building your own galleries than using FHJGs (yes,m I'm admitting this as a sponsor) You want better results? send me some token traffic, I'll hook you up with a password to grab your own content and build your own galleries, then it'll match your site and creativity and you'll make more $$$$$ long term

FHGs are a tool just like banners, FPAs, etc. not everyone will work for every affiliate and their traffic...you need to know your traffic and give them what they want to sell them

I understand the issue with video screen caps, but if the site is primarily a video site, the caps won't always be 100% crystal clear.....the screen caps should be presented as samples of what they will see when they join the site to watch the VIDEOS those snaps are taken from...they shouldn't be sold to the surfer as stand alone content...

Yes of course, it's those polaroid snaps that cause me to stop. Lots of guys have galleries with those and the thumbs are clickable to the big pics, follow me?
