Would you fly in a private plane to Vegas...

in this bad weather.
You know most plane wrecks are due to bad weather.

sure, sometimes if you travel with multiple people a private jet is cheaper than 1rst class would be

A better question is would you drive a Lambroghini to Vegas in this bad weather? I think it's equally dangerous.

One of my best friends is a pilot for a company that has a bunch of King Airs.
I just hate flying in bad weather. He usually flys us everyone and its ok. Its just the weather I am tripping out on but I trust him. Just don't trust the planes.

Yes, I would take the Lambo but no room for staff and lugage.

I am the same way. I never get on smaller jets and cropduster reigional flights in bad weather. The way they get bumped around in the slightest bit of weather makes you feel like the hand of God is playing with the cockpit and bouncing you around.

Scary stuff man.

A Gulfstream V has a service ceiling at 51,000 ft so you'll be way above commercial traffic and most of the bad weather. The only thing you have to worry about is takeoff and the ascent if your departing city is nasty also and going down into the bad weather for the landing. King Airs I think have a service ceiling of 31,000 ft, so you're farther down the ladder.

In real bad weather I'd feel safer going commercial. 21% of fatal aviation accidents that are non-commercial flights are due to bad weather, so that's about 1 out 5 chances.

I would... I doubt I'd turn down the chance of flying in a private jet due to weather.

I would go in a private jet over commerical any day!

There has been many a commerical flight where I'd swear the pilot looked more hungover than me, and he's got the lives of 100+ people on board.

At least flying private you have a little more time to size up your pilot than just poking your head in for a minute and finding your seat.

Most plane crashes are do to pilot error, no matter if it's bad weather or not.
So if you are going to fly with someone else make sure you know your life is in their hands.

Sad part is I am co-pilot. I just don't land it but I do alright flying in good weather. I have to see out the window to keep it level. He flys just by the instruments.

Especially with general aviation... I would say 9/10 are pilot error... usually in bad weather because the pilot is flying in conditions that he/she shouldn't be without the proper ratings... thats just my guess though. I have no idea what the actual figures are.

I agree.

My friend flys for a living, he has already gone back and forth to vegas this morning and flys everywhere.

But I agree, I think its like 90 Pilot errors.

When its your time, its your time.
