You may not LIKE that they appear to have an issue with you, and that may NOT be FAIR... But DO NOT jump to the conclusion that ASACP is useless simply because they don't kike YOU... and CERTAINLY DO NOT post that as fact in a public forum... when the biggest thing you're doing is PREVENTING the protection of children.

ASACP is a great organization and I personally like Joan very much.. however, it has come to the point that it appears to be a money making machine now. How many of the small sites out there would love to participate and be certified as ASACP compliant but can't because they would rather focus their earnings on putting them back into the site. It's almost become an elite club where only the biggest and highest paid can play. Those that do have the funds may shy away because most of us know that non profit organizations often mismanage money and the majority of the money doesn't go to the intended recipient but rather it lines the pockets of overpaid beauracrats (not saying this is the case).

Any time you have a "charitable" or "non profit" organization attached to a business it becomes a real nightmare trying to separate the two as individual organizations especially if parties involved are highly liked or disliked.

I support the ideals behind the ASACP but would never support the foundation itself because of the political ballgames that have to be played. I'm not a very good ass kisser.

To someone who will definitely read this.. Don't worry about telling our mutual friend to keep me on a leash like you did last year in Vegas after the awards show.. They don't control my thoughts or my posts...

i agree with much of what you've said Steve, but that statement is a little harse under the current circumstance unless you apply again to the asacp under current government and lack of certain people and get rejected again.

the good the asacp has done should outweigh some of the growing pains they have gone though and personally I'd like to look forward rather then looking back.

being on the board shows that person's business operates under acceptable practices to the asacp and some sort of financial commitment to the fight against child pornography should be a part of most every responsible adult online business.

Being on the board means that you have bought your way into a perceived 'elite' organization where you get to meet a bunch of the industries big wigs.

Plenty of us operate under the ASACP guidelines without even having to donate money to the cause, although, there are also those of us who have donated money also.

Opening your check book in the name of ASACP in order to be on the board means just that... You paid for the position.. and the access to the industries heavy hitters.

Please put aside whatever impression Gary Kremen may have given of ASACP. He's off the board now.

ASACP board seats are NOT open to the highest bidder!

I, for one, didn't pay to be a member of that board. I did however contribute in other ways. It would be a little odd to have someone on the board if they didn't contribute in some way to the organization... Most people with money would rather contribute in that way as far as I can tell.
